DRAWING THE LINE
« on: April 14, 2007, 12:02:26 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes drew the line, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're drawing a lopsided square right now.

The most recent films I can think of in the "What were they thinking?" category were "Dreamgirls", "Madagascar"and "Ice Age 2". "Evita" and "Man Of La Mancha" fit the bill too.

Did I hear you say "Auricle"? DP had part of his right auricle removed last year - he hoped to increase the value of his art work.

Good day, DR Tomovoz!

I'm always up at this hour, but just not usually logged in at HHW, or I'd NEVER get my day started!   Usually walking the dog, etc.

Gaffe...

Is that a French word, I wonder?

Where is DR François when you need him?

Yes, I see now that it comes from Old French.

So DR François should know it very well.      :o

But no, desert you I must - for the moment.

Be well!

TOD:  Well, I didn't see it personally, but from all accounts, Carrie: The Musical was one of those classic "what were they THINKING?" moments.

DR JoseSPiano:

Silly!  As if you'd have to bribe me with cookies to spend time with your sweet and adorable self!  Not sure yet of my schedule for today, exactly.  But would love to make this happen if I can.  Let me know what time you were thinking of, and I'll see if it can be arranged.    :)   After you get up from your long and deserved sleep.

Good morning, all!  I had a very restless night; I cannot shake whatever stomach ailment is attacking me, and it's not fun.

Today I need to visit Toyland for a bit, so I'll be heading downtown in a few minutes. My dear friend Alice is in hospital with diverticulitis, and I need to give her a call as well.

TOD:
  Musicals:
CARRIE:  yep, I saw it! What a godawful mess it was
ANGEL:  take a great play and make a lousy musical
Film:  take a good musical and mangle it
A CHORUS LINE, victim of the I know How-to-Fix-It-School
BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE, or Smokey and the Bandit visit Miss Mona's

Saturday morning greetings!  It's cold and rainy here today.  DH Richard slept fitfully last night in the recliner.  He's complaining this morning about pain - not in his shoulder, but in his throat from the intubation.

Sorry I missed DR Vixmom last night to thank her for the vibes.

Good morning!

Partly cloudy here with more clouds than blue sky but should still be a pleasant day. They're forecasting rain tonight and all day tomorrow, so that doesn't make me happy. Guess I'll enjoy the sunshine while we have it.

I'm up.

I'm not happy about it, but Ms Erin will soon be expecting me for my every-third-Saturday haircut appointment.

What were they thinking film for me:

MYRA BRECKINRIDGE. There are some books that just can't be translated into films, and this one is a primo example. It's still fascinating to watch, as big a mess as it is, but a bad mistake nevertheless.
