Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up...  I slept well, and I got a full eight hours, but I'm a bit tempted to head back to bed and get a few more winks.  We shall see.

However, it's quite bright and sunny outside right now, and I'm tempted to head out for a nice walk before heading to the train later this afternoon.  Again, we shall see.

I've never liked BUGSY MALONE. I never warmed to the premise, and I thought the score was an uninteresting bore.

And the word of the day is: AURICLE!
One of the films I've heard a lot about and want to see this summer is Auricle Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Well, I still have the deleted and extended scenes from DEJA VU to watch today. I've also got ROMANCE ON THE HIGH SEAS waiting to be viewed.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this three strip Technicolor film got a good transfer. Warners has been so erratic with their transfers of three strip Technicolor movies. THE THREE MUSKETEERS was a bit of a letdown, but THE ADVENTURES OF DON JUAN couldn't have been more vibrant.

Here's hoping!

Tonight, I will record the last two episodes of ANDY BARKER, P.I. I stayed with the show this long, I might as well see everything they filmed with the character.

Also on HBO-HD tonight is the paycable premiere of UNITED 93. I couldn't summon the emotional strength to see this in theaters as much as I wanted to, so I'm looking forward to at least trying it tonight. If I get too overwhelmed, I can turn it off.

Does anyone here own an Auricle vaccuum cleaner?  Do they really work as well as they're advertised to work?

TOD -

Casino Royale, the 1967 version with Niven, Allen, Sellers, Andress, Kerr, Welles, a number of others.  What a total botch of a film!  And yet, there's something about it that makes it a wonderful botch.  The Bacharach score doesn't hurt, of course.

Hmm...

So...

I'm trying to figure out if my runny nose is being caused by a slight cold, allergies or even possibly a sinus infection.  However, I do think part of my ailment is caused by all the theatre dust, and also the fact that it turns out the exhaust for the Dressing Room Restaurant happens to be situated a few feet from the air intake for the theatre's air conditioning system.  The smell of BBQ and smoked meat wasn't too bad when I first stepped in there two weeks ago, but after two weeks... :-\

Just a quick early-morning "hallooooo"  to the dear lovelies and studlies here this morning.  I have to be out for most of the day today, then back in for a bit in the late afternoon, and then a friend is playing his doctoral recital this evening and I'm going to support him.

I shouldn't stay here too long - it's my one day off this week, and there's lots to be done (hair shearing, shopping).

And my direct boss, Dixie, yesterday admitted that giving me two days off next week gives her some "wiggle room" in case someone calls out.  Which happens a lot lately.  At least she knows that she can rely on me to come in on short notice, or stay late if need be (yesterday was one of those "add two hours" days).

I don't know about conditions in other cities, but I have to let you know that the allergen situation in Oakland ia terrible this year.

Tree, grass and mold allergens are running rampant, I tell you...RAMPANT.

I'm constantly dry-mouthed...from allergy pills to mouth-breathing, it's a lose-lose proposition until things change.  We need RAIN to get some of this crap out of the air and down the gutters.

Oh...

I just realized I may have to go shopping for some "pit blacks".  Since my past couple of gigs over the past two years or so have taken place in covered pits - or even in separate rooms - I haven't had to wear pit blacks in a while.  Hmm...

Right now, the weather here is crisp and clear.

Storms are predicted, however.  I just don't know when they'll arrive.

Yesterday, one of my customers told of her husband's plans to run in the Boston Marathon - for which the prediction is 20 mph headwinds, rain, and temps in the mid thirties.  She intends to stay in their nice, warm motel room.

Thank you.

And, No, you did not scare me.  My phone seems to freeze up now whenever I try to send a text message longer than 10-15 letters.  Very unseemly.  However, I'll PM you now.

Think "music manuscript mites", DR Jose.

Hmmmm.....do you have stray dogs, cats and the occasional rat trailing you as you walk down the street?

Get something with some black-sequin embroidery...just so you sparkle a bit when the light spills over the pit.
