Re: The Helen Hayes Awards

You would think with all the awards that they were divide the Outstanding Supporting Performer, Non-Resident Production into male and female instead of combining it as other categories divide them by the sexes.

That's been a point of contention for years.  However, I do understand the reasoning behind not honoring the "non-resident" productions "too much".

*And some years, the only non-resident productions to play DC have been Mamma Mia! and Cats.

Re: Helen Hayes Awards II

How many people remember that The Charles MacArthur Award for Outstanding New Play or Musical is named after Helen Hayes' husband?

I do/did.

But then again, I've attended the HHA a couple of times.

I didn't anywhere state the initials were JM and for many reasons I can commit nothing to print at this time.

I have a phobia on commitment.  Don't ask!

Re: Helen Hayes Awards III

Some people received muliutple nominations within the same category like Irina Tsikurishvili who received three separate nominations for choreography. She won one. I wonder if she thought what was wrong with the other two shows that the she was nominated for that she only won for one?

And why don't they just combine multiple nominations into one and award (or don't award) for the body of work that year?

Those nominations for Irina Tsikurishvili have also been a point of contention ever since her company came into existence.  They do there wordless adaptations of classics, and not-so-classics.  Sometimes there is music, sometimes there is not.  It's all movement.  I believe she's taken the past Choreography Award at least four times in the past couple of years, much to chagrin of some of the more "standard" musical theatre choreographers.

OK.. I've taken a Prilosec, and I've had some yogurt and some apple juice.  And now I'm going to attempt to get a few more hours of sleep in.

DR Jose needs some soothing guitar playing by Richard Dreyfuss while Marsha Mason rubs his tummy.

BK - Got your email and saw your posting from last night.  Whenever you can get to it is great.   (Just FYI, I'll be away with extremely limited email and internet access from late Thursday afternoon to Sunday night.)

I hate to ask this again (OK, hate is a strong word - but I hope it's not much trouble), but something's screwy with my building's package delivery system, especially with delivery confirmation, and it helped to have the tracking number and confirmation last time.   Could you either post or email me the tracking info for my second batch of CD's?  Last time, when I called armed with the tracking info, lo and behold they found it immediately.  Funny that.
