I haven't read a single positive thing about DEUCE. DR Ben's words about Angela are the most positive thing I have seen about her work in the play. (Marian Seldes, on the other hand, has gotten great word of mouth.) What a sad state of affairs for what may indeed be Angela's last Broadway show.

A very memorable French experience was living with a French family for a week in Paris. I was eighteen and traveling alone throughout Europe when this kind French family took me in. I would have been fine on my own, of course, but one of their daughters was a hostess at the Olympics for a few weeks and they had an extra bed. It proved to be one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

A mixed bag of repeats and new shows on TV tonight:

On CBS, SURVIVOR and SHARK are new, but CSI is a rerun (albeit the one episode this season that I missed).

On NBC, the night is all new except THE OFFICE.

On ABC, we have new episodes of all three shows: UGLY BETTY, GREY'S ANATOMY, and OCTOBER ROAD.

Both SMALLVILLE and SUPERNATURAL are new tonight.

I have only had French food once, and that was at a very nice restaurant on Castro in San Francisco. I had duck and it was very good.

Fortunately, BK is seeing French films this week and not Italian ones, or I'd have to Take an Elmore and say, "I cannot reveal this in a public forum."

As for my viewing today, I WILL definitely get to THE SOPRANOS today. I am expecting some of the new James Bond Ultimate Edition discs in the mail, but I doubt they make it here today. I may instead watch I'LL SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS. And another WILD WILD WEST episode, too.

I dug out my recordings of this show in tribute.

Does Zach bury them in the yard? Is he selective?

I love French onion soup, but I'm not sure I've ever had a full French meal from beginning to end. I've certainly had French dishes like caucau vin (I'm sure that spelling is atrocious), but I don't think an entire French meal.

HERE COME THE VULTURES - BIRDS OF A FEATHER?

NY DAILY NEWS
Quote
Critics: Scientologists' Va. trip a time to prey ________________________________________
The Church of Scientology has dispatched "ministers" to provide "grief counseling" for shell-shocked youth at Virginia Tech - but critics suspect the sect hopes to convert the vulnerable students.

Pastor Fred is Coming To Spread His Screed at VT

Quote
Pastor Fred, a/k/a/ Fred Waldron Phelps Sr., who refers to himself and his grown children as “the most hated family in America,” claims he and his Topeka, Kansas-based Westboro Baptist ‘church’ –which is made up almost entirely of his own offspring– are heading to Virginia Tech in order to ‘protest’ the funerals of the slain students and professors. He claims he will use bullhorns and that his family will carry large placards saying some version of “God Hates Virginia Tech.” He claims his ‘gospel’ for the occasion will be, ‘God is glad that the students and professors at VT were slain; that the massacre was God’s happy retribution for the USA’s love of homosexuals.’
...

Maybe Group A can "fix" Group B!

As for the Topic of the Day...

Hmm...  I know I've had some very good French meals, but I can't seem to remember where or when right now.

I'm a major fan of Bistro food, and New York City is filled with many wanna-be bistros - Pastis and Balthazar - and even the not-so-haute ones like French Roast and Maison serve some pretty decent fare.

Cooking-wise, I went through a Provençal phase a couple years ago.  I don't think I've ever used and consumed so much tarragon in my life!  But it was all très délicieux

Having been picketed by Mr. Phelps during a tour of Anything Goes...  All I can say is that if he and his family do show up at the funerals of victims...  Well, frankly, I'm speechless.   And sick to my stomach.
