Didn't he invent wireless telegraph or some such?

French dressing makes me cross!  I prefer my Salad Days undressed and Free As Air.

and I liked pop group Slade which is almost relevant.

Trust me. I am a veteran TV watcher and am overly familiar with Gradual Series Improvement Phenomenon (GSIP). Some shows start with a bang and spend the rest of their existence trying to live up to the promise of their pilots (LOST, anybody?). But so many more tend to pick up steam as they go along: Veronica Mars, Everwood, Brothers & Sisters, and even my favorite show of all time, Sports Night, took a while to find their stride.

On the other hand, if the first five minutes of The Closer don't instantly grab me, the DVD set is going straight in the trash can!

:)

B

I LOVED "Sports Night"!  I bought the DVD and it was the very first time that I bought a whole TV series on DVD.  I "loaned" it to my dad, but he hasn't given it back, yet.  I think I need to buy a copy for myself...again. ;)

Right now, I'm listening to Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz with this week's guest, Janis Siegel of The Manhattan Transfer!  A friend of mine asked if I would record this and I certainly will!!  I'm not recording it right now, but it's archived (I don't know for how long), so I have some time. ;D
