I've just caught up on yesterday's posts.

I appreciate DR Jose's preparedness to share his world.

And the word of the day is: PRANDIAL!
When our esteemed BK and the others write and display pictures of tonight's meal at Musso and Frank's, we will all be able to enjoy the posts PRANDIAL.

I do wish I could take the time to catch up.

Sadly, I cannot.  It is already nearing the time when I must get ready for work.

Have a good evening, DR Tomovoz.

Have a pleasant day, everyone.

Tomorrow - April 25 is ANZAC day. It is one of the few days upon which Australians actually do stop and think about their history and reflect upon that elusive "National Identity". It is of course significant to the NZ part of the name as well.  The day is also of great sifnificance to the people of Northern France and Belgium and a major "service of rememberence" is held at Turkey's "Anzac Cove".

Last night Jose said:

...And don't get me started on the fact that the two strings on the piano that were replaced two weeks ago, still have not been retuned and regulated since then.  Your Equity dues at work!

We (Anthony and I) just paid our Equity dues. I'm all high tech about it, doing the process on line at the Equity Web site. I also voted there last week for our new slate of officers. Anthony, as creative as he can be, is still in the paper world. He mailed in his check yesterday and his Equity ballot today.

I don't remember the very first Web site I visited. It may have been the

NAMES Project

since at the time I was a very, very involved volunteer.

I also visited our own (Foundation Center, that is) Web site

FC

I was part of a bulletin board for a while in the early 90s. It was called The Male Stop. It no longer exists.

Now I have a full set of bookmarks to visit including sites like Playbill On-Line, TDF, the New York Times, 365 Gay (a LGBTQ news Web site based in Canada)

365

and many other sites, including an obscure little site based in California. It has something to do with a fictional tennis star called Guy Haines  ;)

Gotta go and wash that bowl.

Later, gaters.

I should stop showing up at this site so early in the morning.  The rumor is going to get around that I am up all night.

And "Good, morning to DR Singdaw!"

I hate to break this to you, but you're a little beyond the rumor phase...

TOD:

I can remember the first dial-up bulletin boards I accessed, along with the first portals (such as Prodigy, AOL and GNN), but I'm not sure what the first "World Wide Web" sites I visited were.  There was something theatre based, before PlaybillOnLine or Broadway.com came into existance, but I don't remember the name of it.  It was primarily text--very few pictures.  And there were a few Comic Book sites as well.

I need to pop on over to a meeting right now.  When I come back, I'll do a rant and rave about rec.arts.theatre.musicals.

DR singdaw, can you join us for dinner?

Alas, DR elmore3003, I cannot - and I am most disappointed!!   :'(

However, I am doing my darndest to get there for the conclusion of the performance, to drive you all back to the train and at least get to meet you, albeit briefly.

You might be better off with James, the hunky van driver!

As my obligation is of undetermined duration, I will text DR JoseSPiano's cell during the performance, either letting him know that I'm there and ready to go, or that you'll need to seek out a taxicab.

DR JoseSPiano:  Why did that one girl keep singing the opening line of "People Will Say We're In Love" incorrectly?  -At least she was consistent when she started the next verse.

This reminds me of a time when I heard Michael Maguire perform live at an outdoor event in Williamsburg, VA.  He was singing "If Ever I Would Leave You," and when he got to the bridge, the melody was WAY off - I mean, clashing with the orchestra off.  I thought, OK, momentary brain freeze.  But when the bridge returned, he did it again - and I thought: OK, the guy learned the song wrong, and no one has corrected him!

I don't recall the first website I ever visited.  The first online community I visited with some regularity, like DR SWW, was "Finishing the Chat" over at Sondheim.com.  And I dearly recall the musings from featured columnist THE REAL A.  But I haven't even logged in there in years and years.  I do subscribe to the CASTRECL listserve, and that keeps my email inbox hopping.

bk, do you know anything about David G. Smith's 1997 show Plan 9 From Outer Space: The Musical?

I helped some soul out with a sheet music request, and as a thank you got a house recording of an LA production of this.

Good morning, fellow Dear Readers.

TOD: We had AOL for a very brief time. They had so much stuff there on AOL that I didn't know from "the internet." We didn't venture outside of AOL until I was banned for life and got another internet provider. But I think that DR Sandra found Playbill.
