LOL MBarnum. I believe you were thinking of Santa Monica & Wilshire.  You still didn't go nearly far enough if you were in Beverly Hills.  I think you just wanted the side trip, and the area of town you were headed to isn't nearly as much fun.

Whither DR BrettySpaghetti?

Did he get covered by new mown hay?

Did he dislike The Closer. and felt he couldn't come back?

Maybe he left because I called him Beffaroni?

Well, then, I guess you have no other choice but to put the cake in the middle of the table and everyone dig in with their hands. Kinda like a one-year-old in the high chair at his first birthday.

Do it!

Good evening dear Esteemed, rested, and well-kissed BK --

I am ashamed that today has been so hectic, that I have had to just read the days "notes" and then jump here to the end to say a quick hello.

I'm leaving for a 6 day business trip tomorrow morning, VERY EARLY, and dear DR Laura has gone beyond the bounds of friendship and is going to pick me up and take me to the airport at....... 5:00 AM !!!!

DR Laura, I have a mental picture of you waking up in the middle of the night, making sure everyone was asleep, painting the bathroom in your night gown then climbing back into bed and getting up in the morning like nothing happened.

I realize that HHW is NOT the sports capital of the Internet, but does anyone here know where this photo is from or who the people are in this photo?  Someone sent it to me, thinking that I might know; but I haven't a clew.....

Anyone?

Dear TCB ..... you really had to post this??  My God, I'll never get caught up on all of the posts this will generate!

Maybe it's a cross between a secret handshake, and a decoder ring!!

I blame Jose !  :)

Jose, just to clarify something from last night.  I personally don't think you need a haircut, I think you are just fat.

I'm listening to a new recording of The Private Life Of Sherlock Holmes by Miklos Rozsa.  While it's getting raves everywhere, I'm a little less than thrilled with the interpretation and the violin solos, but then I'm used to Heifitz.  Still, it's grand to have it.

He has at least one show planned every night that he's here. He arrived late Tuesday evening (too late to see a show) and he saw two shows yesterday. He has one this evening, one tomorrow (Friday), two on Saturday, two on Sunday, one on Monday, one on Tuesday, two on Wednesday and he leaves on Thursday. 12 shows in seven full days in the city!

Isn't Broadway still dark on Mondays?

I'm surprised you're not even curious to hear what she sounds like. She's a very talented singer and seems to be a super sweet girl....

DR Matt H, I don't have the attention span to sit and watch a television show.

It will be a challenge for me to watch an entire episode of "The Office" tonight, but I'll try!

Thanks DR JANE - lots of rain and some wind, but nothing drastic.

Merlin the Cat found a mouse and spent the afternoon playing with it and giving it the idea that it might survive the encounter.  It was a false mouse hope.

My friend Shannon called and asked if I'd sit with her while she ate something - I hadn't seen her in months, so I said yes.  We went to Casa Vega and had a nice time catching up.  I was a semi-bad boy and had a beef taco, but no chips and salsa, so I think I'm okay.

Here is the quote from DR Cason about his appearance in "The Office."

"The best places to watch for me are in the background when Jim and Andy first pull up to the school they are going to (I am in a black hoodie and walk behind them as they are getting out of the car); another prime spot (if they didn't edit it out) will be in a hallway when Andy recognizes his "girlfriend" -- they did several takes where there is a 30-something teacher who Jim mistakenly thinks Andy is talking about at first and I am right behind her - who I believe they pan in on...

Other assorted places are in a hallway scene when the bell rings and everyone scatters, I run into a classroom right behind Jim - then there are the obligatory courtyard scenes where everyone is wandering around.  When Jim and Andy exit out of the school (again, if they kept that shot), myself and another guy run out of the building right before the two of them exit.  Just keep your eyes peeled for a brown haired guy in a black hoodie, a green sweater, and jeans...  "

Panorama City was not always a horror of a place - it was quite middle class and nice in the late sixties early seventies - my ex-wife had several relatives who lived there, and our first apartment was five minutes from there.

I forgot to mention that Joe Morrison played Lil Abner in Lil Abner on stage back in the 60s in Miami...Carol Livingston played Daisy Mae....he gave me a photo from it which I will scan upon my return home.

Well, Panorama City seems a bit seedy now...sort of like parts of Salem...but I think that Van Nuys is rather nice.
