JOURNEY'S END was an amazing production, and the cast and direction were excellent.  It's a powerful piece, still quite relevant when it comes to old jerks sacrificing young men for ridiculous causes.  The whole assinine class structure of Edwardian England and its snobbism come through loud and clear as well. I don't recall seeing Stark Sands in anything except DIE MOMMY DIE, in which I was underwhelmed, and I thought he was absolutely wonderful here. I think production is hopng to limp along till the Tonys and I hope it succeeds in staying around.

Good heavens, if I'm sitting here contemplating that, I need to go get some sleep.

DR Vixmom - I did survey the trees that are being cut down. I didn't see any nests- bird or squirrel. Of course they could be inside the tree, but somehow I don't think so.

I take a nice warm tub
I have a deep back rub
And the Rialto changes movies every Friday

I eat some hot minced pie
I see a cloud sail by
And the Rialto changes movies every Friday

You only get so much to work with
Before the seltzer's lost its fizz
And so, it's wise... To realize
This is all there is.

I sniff a rose bouquet
I hear some Mozart play
And it's a comfort
And it's a blessing
You only have to call it so
And the Rialto changes movies every Friday
What a wonderful thing to know

Oh, oh, oh... Six o'clock and the master is not home yet.  Pray God nothing serious has happened to him crossing the river.  But I wouldn't be surprised. The whole world's at sixes and sevens.

So open the box and hand me a car'mel treat
Go to the movies and reserve me a center seat
At the Rialto
At the Rialto
Friday

This is where you came in. We have to go on for ages and ages yet... You go home...  Oh, Mr. and Mrs. Antrobus...  Their heads are full of plans and they're as confident as the first day they began...  And they told me to tell you...

Goodnight.

Good Evening!

Another show, another closin'.

-There was a very nice champagne toast after the show, and then was back on the vans back to get back to NYC.   However, since some people were staying up there for the night, and other people were taking the "midtown van" there were only two of us in the "uptown van".  So, James dropped each of us at our doors.  -A nice "extra" closing night gift.

Otherwise, we had two good shows today.  Two good audiences.  And I know I'll be seeing everyone sooner or later.  So... To quote another Kander & Ebb song... "And the world goes round and round and round..."

Well, Brody hasn't been to school lately, so, really, not much has happened. Apart from that Oops! Report yesterday, anyway. Brandon and his I-don't-want-to-eat-my-vegetables-so-I'll-just-cry routine has been keeping me from eating my plate for quite some time, so we don't even have that.

But we have a couple of birthdays coming up, and Kayla says she'll be getting a purple flying pony any day now, so I'm sure something exciting will happen pretty soon.

By George!

Where's George, btw?!

Here I am!  Finally. ;) I went to work for a few hours, then I came home and actually started going through my boxes down in my living room!  My parents' friends didn't come over so it wasn't a problem that I didn't put the boxes in the garage. ::) Now I'm watching several episodes of "It's All Relative" from the Logo channel.

DR elmore - Glad you liked Journey's End.  When I saw it, I was sitting down front just a few feet from the speakers.   Needless to say, the final moments of the play were quite powerful... and loud... and powerful.

...And I still remember the audience not applauding right away during the curtain call.  It was all still sinking in.

DR vixmom - Sometimes you just have to head to the 'Bell.  *The one by my parents' house in Virginia is open 24 hours.  That was always "dangerous".
