Finished Interlude.  Computer is now installing a security update that I believe it installed just five days ago - also a Quick Time update that I think it also installed.  Naturally, it requires a restart, which will the require me to actually restart the computer three times before I finally get the change all keychain thing to click on - until I click on that, I can't get the Internet to work.  It naturally does this in the evening when everyone at Apple is gone, so if there's a problem you're completely out of luck until the next morning.

Hopefully, there won't be a problem.

Why would you have to restart your computer three times?  -Although, it is a good idea to shut down and restart your computer from time to time to help clear out all the accumulated "stuff".

You can just download all the updates at once and do one reboot.

Additionally, the key chain prompt should not come up every time unless you checked a box in the security options when you set up your computer.

*And you can also set your computer to check for and install the updates during the day.  When Apple is open.  Or just check for them manually - which is what I do.

Had a nice talk with my nephew's wife tonight. I was going to go to the lake Saturday morning for a baby shower for her then run back to Sioux City right afterward to get to the local Cinco de Mayo festivities. Turns out she didn't care at all if I didn't go. This is put on by her mom and her friends and there will be another one later, so I'll go to that one.  Whew!

I have to have someone look at the keychain thing - it doesn't come up when I restart.  I have to restart again, then before it shuts down I get the keychain thing and click it.  It only took two times this time, but three times last week.

I've been sitting here surfing the net and hitting redial to vote for Melinda on IDOL. Her line has not been very busy.

Then I talked to my niece who had her wisdom teeth out yesterday and is in pain. Her teeth were almost in her sinus, ouch!  Anyway, she has good pain pills and we had a good talk.

My brother almost cut his finger off two days ago in the garage door.  They had to sew the tip back on. Ouch!

Good evening, fellow Dear Readers. Whew, what a day. We familied this morning and then took our leave about noon and drove south. We expect to get home tomorrow. We are in a non-smoking room in a motel that reeks of smoke. It was the last room available, so we're stuck with it.

Hmm... You get the keychain prompt before you shutdown?  That does seem a bit umseemly.

Thanks, vixmom.  Skip didn't stay up until midnight, so you're the first brithday wish on the actual day!

Jane, hopefully your MIL will have cookies tomorrow

I wrote on the back  (outside ) of the box "With love from Jane & Keith"  lest she be suspicious of a package from a New York stranger

Did I tell you how Vixdad COMPLETELY forgot my birthday last year?  That evening I opened a present I had gotten in the mail from HIS mother and he said  "What's that for?"   ::)

This year I plan to have the Vixter drop hints for a week in advance!!! ;D

Thanks, Cilla!

This is going to be a "birthday week" for me.  Skip is crazy-busy tomorrow for most of the day, so we've decided to celebrate on Saturday.  Then I celebrate with my parents and brother on Sunday.
