I also started on the first part of the second disc, a short TV interview with the director prior to the release of the film in 1969.

I also watched several more WILL & GRACE episodes. One was the two part episode where Will and Grace become real estate flippers and eventually have a memorable encounter with a power lesbian played by Edie Falco.

The other WILL & GRACE episode introduced Bobby Canavalle as the new love interest for Will, NYPD cop Vince. Loved the episode (he arrested Karen for speeding but forgot to sign the ticket). (The following season will feature that marvelous episode where Will goes to his home in Queens to cook Thanksgiving dinner.)

Off to finish the special features on ARMY OF SHADOWS and then watch THE BREAK-UP. Afterwards I may either do the "making of" documentary for DREAMGIRLS or watch episode #2 of PLANET EARTH on Blu-ray

So did everyone put down their margaritas long enough to have a mint julep and watch the Derby?  George, your birthday is filled with celebrations!!

Well, synchronicity or some other ruling spirit led me to read BK's notes today and I had to drop by to wish [move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]GEORGE[/move] a [move=right,scroll,6,transparent,100%]VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!![/move]

I think we need us a frenzy or five.  I just did someone a favor and proofed a twenty-six page CD booklet - I found about forty errors, so that's good.

Good Afternoon!

Mission accomplished.

And what I was looking for happened to be in the second box I checked!  :)  -See, I guess I'm not that disorganized.

In any case...

Jose, it would have been more credible without the errant .  ;)

BK, do you still see Norman Lloyd from time to time (he is still among the living, isn't he?).

If so, could you do me a favor and ask him if Frances Farmer played Evelyn in Irwin Shaw's Quiet City?  (Lloyd played the little brother whose trumpet playing was scored by Copland).

You know it's kind of frightening to think I've been here (more or less) for years and there are already people who've joined since my recent absence who have more posts than I do.   SCCCCAAAARRRRRY.

The mailman brought me a most odd DVD...a 1952 Egyptian comedy called ISMAIL YASSIN MEETS FRANKENSTEIN....which is a remake of ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN!

Actually the original title is HAVE MERCY (or whatever the Egyptian for that would be)....but it is almost scene for scene the A and C film...amusing, but Ismail Yassin, though a popular comediain in Egypt back then, is not as funny as Lou Costello.

I can sure clear a place out in a hurry (faster than Arthur Murray teaches dancing).  Even BK left.  Oy.  BBL.

Right now, it feels like tornado weather...so I am staying home. Unfortunately something is wrong with the reception on my NOAA weather radios, but that's ok while I'm awake.

I just posted this on a film music board - I know this won't appeal to our show lovers, but I'm just posting it here "in case" there are any soundtrack folks among us or our lurkers:

Whilst rummaging around in one of my storage facilities (which are DEEP with boxes upon boxes of STUFF) I found what I believe will be the first of several boxes of Bay Cities CDs (the others are really buried deeply in the very back, behind and below many boxes - I can see them, but can't get to them yet.

For now, I have found one of the classic Bay Cities titles.  Let the guessing begin!  I'll start:

I guess Jerry Fielding 3, one of the limited edition Fielding CDs that go for decent prices whenever they come up on eBay.  Fielding 3 has three scores - two of which have had subsequent releases and one which hasn't - The Getaway, Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia, and Fielding's wonderful The Gambler (a little over twenty-two minutes of a sixty-something minute CD).

The CDs are sealed and individually numbered.  I know it's the only Fielding I had extras of, so there won't be any Fielding 1 or 2 found (or Chato's Land - the rarest of the four CDs).

So, I'm going to offer them at a good price - $15 plus $3.50 shipping (they originally sold for twenty, and that was back in 1992).  They regularly go for thirty to fifty dollars on eBay.

Act quickly if you want it.  You can e-mail me at kritzerland@aol.com for instructions.

I have had some nice emails from various peoples at HHW and I have felt part of the proceedings by listening to such items as Brain from Planet X and Fine and Dandy, as well as Tomovoz's always eclectic compilations.

I wish someone (hint, hint, nudge, nudge) would get the rights for Fred Karlin's Up the Down Staircase and release it.  I can't believe anyone at whatever became of UA Records has any plans for it.

In the things about my life you probably didn't want to know department, we have a new computer with Vista, which has no drivers available for it (not even for Miss Daisy--does anyone know what the HELL I'm talking about?).  So I have to go because we need to plug in our OLD computer to see if we can get internet access for the kids' Wii system.  I shall return, much like General MacArthur.
