Is anyone here bothered by OJ Simpson being told to leave a restaurant in Kentucky, because the owner was offended by OJ Simpson being OJ Simpson?

Is anyone here bothered by Paris Hilton being told she has a reservation in the clink?  Or is her asking her fans to petition Governor Arnold to give her a pardon more bothersome?

Just wondering.

Yes, DR WOODY, I had a bit of a problem with that. I realize that many people loathe OJ Simpson--and I'm fine with that-- but there are many others who do abhorrent things. If you're running a business that's open to the public, maybe you need to be open to the public, provided no one is behaving badly in your establishment at that time. I do understand taking a stand and such, but he was acquitted.

And, yes, Paris Hilton is too tiresome for words.

Just my opinion.

That monster-size tax return with the many subsidiaries  and many states is now in the client's hands.  I can now get on to other tax work in peace.

That was my thought as well DR Jeanne...if you were to judge each and every potential customer to see if all of their past thoughts and actions were to your liking, prior to allowing them access to your establishment...well, you probably would never have any customers.

I forgot to mention my most favorite part of the whole show last night.  It was when they showed Ben on his birthday.  He put on the gas mask ... and then .... wholy crap.  I know ben is evil. But that was a little much even for him.

Btw, i have no idea who or what jacob is. At first i thought he was dead and ben was "seeing" him.

Also, that Hostile guy who found young ben, was he supposed to be that guy from camp? The guy from camp's father?

Let's say ben was 12 then and it was 30 years ago, or even 25. Well that guy from camp is only like30 or 40. And he was like 20 then (maybe?).  At first i thought it had to be his father. But now i think maybe we're supposed to think it is the guy from camp?

Re:  Lost Theories (potential spoilers)

Entertainment Weekly posited some time ago, after that first passing mention of Jacob, that Jacob was the smoke monster, which I am now beginning to agree with.  Jacob may be "lost" himself in some alternate form, hence his "help me" last night.

I also agree that Locke will probably heal; on the other hand, this show has already shown it doesn't mind killing off a major character now and then just to keep us guessing.

His name is Richard (or "Mr. Wears More Mascara than Michael Jackson," as I fondly refer to him).  I think it was supposed to be the same guy, but I agree--the age difference was striking, and, I think, intentional.  I think that has something to do with the island and the experiments.

BTW, my working theory right now is that Richard was part of the scientific expedition that Danielle was part of.

And has anyone else thought that Alex was born on the island?  Unless Ben & Danielle went somewhere else for a while?

Re:  OJ.  Personally I applaud that business owner.  Any restaurant owner, or store owner, or any owner of a private business has a choice not to serve/wait on anybody they choose, whether or not their reason is sound.  In this particular instance, I think his reason was very sound.  OJ's "acquittal" was a farce.  IMHO.  :)

I meant to comment on last night's show, which i loved btw.

I am so sad that next week is the finale.  And i did not watch the previews, so i haven no idea what will happen.

I must say that i am really liking this to be continued shows. I'm not sure if most people do. But i like having the story continued, instead of having it crammed into 1 hour.

One thing though, did anybody else find the reporter's identity completely obvious.  I really wish that they had not made it that obvious, so i could have gasped with surprise.

But other than that it was great seeing alison and her hubby reconnect.

I wonder if next week's show will be a cliffhanger or if it will just wrap up this story.  Also, i'm wondering what will happen if the article is printed.

If I remember correctly, didn't Rousseau say long ago that she was pregnant before she came to the island?

And I've never bought it that Ben was really Alex's father.  I think that's another one of his lies.

Back from shipping packages.  I'll be lunching with cousin Dee Dee at the Farmer's Market, which is serendipitous since my sunglasses place just called and my replacement sunglasses are in (I lost my others at Amoeba - extremely annoying).

One of the things I brought home from storage was an old big fake book of songs, mostly theater and film.  This is the only book that I know of that has the Livingston/Evans inspired by song from Vertigo, a real hoot and the nadir of inspired by songs.  While perusing, I came upon a song from Golden Boy that I'd never heard of called What Became Of Me?  It was obviously cut from the show.  So, loving that score as I do, I began playing the song - as soon as I finished the first line I realized that Mr. Strouse, knowing a good tune when he wrote one, recycled the melody for the title song from Dance A Little Closer, by simply adding another syllable onto the end of the first line (clo-ser, instead of "me").   Fun, huh?  Had I known that, I would have included it on one of the Lost In Bostons.

In the news:  FRACAS IN BOSTON

BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- Concert-goers, and even Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart, were caught off-guard when a fight broke out on opening night at usually sedate Symphony Hall.

Television video of the fight Wednesday night showed two men struggling in the balcony -- one with his shirt pulled off -- as several people stood around them.

Lockhart briefly halted the performance, which featured singer-songwriter Ben Folds, while the men were escorted out.

Witnesses said they heard a scream from the balcony, and the sound of chairs falling, then a second scream as the fight escalated.

"The first time there was a scream, Keith looked up that way but he kept going," audience member June MacIndoe told Boston's WHDH-TV. "Then about a minute and a half later...there was a big scream and you could hear chairs falling over and you could see them up there, fists going."

At that point, Lockhart stopped the performance for a couple of minues, she said. "He just stood there, you know, quiet."

Boston police spokesman David Estrada said police officers on security detail at the hall escorted the men off the property, and no charges were filed. No injuries were reported, he said.

A Boston Symphony spokeswoman did not immediately return a call for comment.

I had seen that earlier... Sad to see such activity at a performance. For me theater, good movie, or even enjoying a reading is what I escape for and it bothers me to see it marred by imbecile actions.

I'm very fond of Mr Lockhart; I've done three Boston Pops concerts, and I've always enjoyed working with him.  I think he's he's quite good at his job. He doesn't suffer fools during rehearsal and he's always prepared with questions when the rehearsal begins.

I enjoy him also. I particularly like the Celtic album he did.

A piece of Boston Pops trivia here...

The Chieftains, along with Burgess Meredith and dancer Jean Butler appeared on Pops when John Williams was conducting I believe in 1990.

Had an incredibly busy and a nice day yesterday. I had a meeting early in the morning that lasted a lot longer than scheduled and after the meeting I met up with a freind and DBF Jon for some Iced tea and we had lunch at Juanos (Best burritos and Fajitas in Fargo) and sat outside on their patio for a couple of hours chatting and stuff before I had to go to work at 330. The nice warm sun felt great and it was the most relaxed I had felt in a long time.

Work was annoying, short staffed and trying to get things ready for summer reserves because summer classes start on Monday. I had to spend nearly two hours searching for a book that was not correctly catalogued. It was a book called Subduing Satan by Ted Ownby, a reknown scholar on Reconstruction and segregationism in the Deep South. I finally found it....

They had it catalogued as a fiction book in the general reading area. They classified it as a Science fiction book.
