I tend to blame Carol Burnett for the "uncool" rep Doris Day got during the 70s.  As much as Ms. Burnett said that she adores all movie stars, her parodies of Ms. Day tended to be meaner than most.

I'm sorry there's no NAKED OLD COOTS SINGING option.

You could invite some old friends over an play the "Show me yours, I'll show you mine (post-op scars)" game set to music.

Good morning at 7:03am. I just finished breakfast and will begin to tackle the work on my desk before my vacation.

DR Ben, I hope you and Ant have a wonderful vacation. The weather down here has been wonderful lately so I hope you have sunny days!

Please tell Ant that I haven't forgotten about his request, but I haven't been able to get my editing system to work since upgrading to Tiger, even though I upgraded my editing system as well. There is only one Morelli photo that we had found but I will happily pass it on to him along with the archival music, when I've gotten things working again.

Have fun!!

Doris Day is the biggest female star in Hollywood history.  She spent ten years ranked as one of the top ten box office attractions including FOUR years at number one.  Neither Elizabeth Taylor nor Betty Grable who also spent ten years on the list could match Doris' four years as number ONE!

No...but Shirley Temple did it first!

According to Quigley at any rate!

No Sally just yet DR JRand, first up Robert Dix....although it is interesting that I ran into two stars of FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER during my trip to Los Angeles. What are the chances?!

You do understand, however, that ADVENTURERA comes first.

I'm just passing through on a quick break from work.

I missed T-Punk! I've been wondering how her little chubster cow-cat is doing.

Interesting DR RLP....was Shirley in the top ten for ten years running?  I couldn't tell from that article.

As it does with so many of us.

Yes, DR MBARNUM....most of those movies have Mr Dix than Ms Todd...

Warner Bros. has banned all advance screenings of its films in Canada, claiming piracy is rife in the country.

When we were invited to show DAUGHTERS OF THE DUST at the Toronto Film Festival back in '91, the films were shown more than once, in different theatres and were shuttled from theatre to theatre in vans.

We received a phone call late one night asking us if we could provide another print of our film. (We had only been able to afford one copy!) Apparently, the van full of films had been stolen and everyone was afraid that their films would wind up as bootlegs.

The van turned up the next day, with all the films intact. It seems  that whoever stole it just wanted the van, not the contents. They'll never realized what an opportunity for bootlegging they squandered!

I haven't heard from Bretty since the time he disappeared, apart from the fact that he was going to be very busy.

I hope he's enjoying his time on the mothership!

Hi, Amy! Glad you're able to pop in for a while. I will tell Anthony about your hardware problems. He's busy right now deciding what "not" to take. He puts out many things before we go so he can take out things before we actually pack the suitcase.

I'll pack tonight after he's finished.

DR Miss Karen, I LOVE LOVE LOVE those continuation shows on MEDIUM.  I wonder if it depends on whether a person watches the show religiously. Or is just a casual viewer. I could sort of see why the casual viewer would not want it to be continued.  But personally i totally love it.

DR Dan, I am curious about something re: amazon.  If the cds were not damaged (i think you said only the cases were broken), and you needed them for a mother's day gift why did you send them back?  Why not just use another empty case?

Well, I wasn't sure that the CDs were damaged or not--I never took off the cellophane.  If they were just for myself, I would have opened them to check, kept them if they were okay and replaced the cases.  But I didn't want my Mom to think that they were second hand or something like that when she saw there was no wrapping.

My Mom gave me birth and I'm giving her CDs.   I guess that evens out.
