Back from errand number two, and shall now work on the Joan Ryan order - that way, when I get back from lunch, I can keep learning the hard-to-learn music for this reading that's coming up way too damn soon.

Were you able to transpose it to your range?

It has to happen soon.

Hmmmmm. Did you ever find out where you're not going?

Yes.  Of course, I went to place I was not going first.

I finished the first featurette on the PIGSKINS PARADE DVD - a rundown of the various stars in the picture.

And, DR Elmore, Dixie Dunbar was mentioned along with the others in this featurette.

I didn't watch American Idol but I did listen to the newest Indian Idol winner's first CD...and it is quite nice...he has a wonderful, mature voice for someone so young and he sang some very fun songs. I recommend it.

What?!?!?!  No accompanying picture with your post?  ;D

Next came a short piece on Judy Garland narrated by Lorna Luft. Nothing we hadn't heard before from Lorna, but it's nice to have it on this disc anyway.

First candidate: KittyLitter Cake

I couldn't find a picture of it, but a friend of mine's daughter makes "Scab Cake". It's (hope no one is dining right now) a red velvet cake with custard filling that oozes out when you cut open the red (non-iced) cake. "Nuff said!

Opened up the season one DVD set of FLIPPER...wow, it looks gorgeous! Like it was just filmed yesterday! And that little Tommy Norden really steals the show.

I just love Dolphins...and when Brian Kelly, as the dad, removes his shirt, which he does at least once in every episode it would seem, well...yowza!

Finished up the PIGSKIN PARADE DVD with the Darryl Zanuck featurette.

Did Biography ever do a entire broadcast on him. He had such an interesting life as a mogul. This little documentary only covered his early years in the movie business up to merging 20th Century with Fox Pictures. So much more to his story.

That's just WRONG.  Cake is supposed to be enticing.

Not if you're on a diet, in which case this cake would do the trick!

I couldn't help myself. I had to have another injection of the Keira Knightley PRIDE & PREJUDICE. I had about a hour and forty minutes, so not enough time to see the entire film, but enough to satisfy my craving to see it again.

I am noticing that the old towel bars that I took down when I painted the bathroom are worn and ugly.

See? Once again---the domino effect!

VERONICA MARS' series finale was actually just the last two one hour episodes placed back-to-back.

The first episode was vintage VERONICA MARS with an interesting case and some surprising results.

As for what he's doing with those binoculars...  I believe he's looking into the future, looking for someone who appreciates men of his "future age".

The second one was good, too, with another really unusual case for her to investigate while trying to keep certain things from her father.

Sad to say, no closure was offered in the show, and we were left with quite a troubling cliffhanger that will never be resolved. Ah well.

It was a marvelous series.

Finished the evening with another top-notch episode of THE SHIELD with lots of scary, heavy drama happening and only two shows left in the season.

Anyway, it seems that a random glance at imdb suggests that the person who does the full underscore for a film, even when other people wrote the songs, can be entitled to the "original music by" credit, at least on imdb.

That has been the case on the films I've worked on...

This may have been discussed before, but...  Any thoughts on these two new-ish boxed set:

OH, for the TOD I forgot all about the 1960 Mexican teen angst movie Quinceañera!

I wonder if the film of the same name that came out last year is a remake?

I know I've posted this elsewhere, but now it's official:  HAPPY SHAVUOS, EVERYBODY!

From THE BOYS IN THE BAND:

"Michael: Let's do this again real soon.

Harold: Yeah, how about a year from Shavuos?"

Yes, the keys will be lowered for at least four of my songs in that reading, so that's good.  I've finished Prince Of The City, and shall now watch the little making of documentary, then I'll begin to enter fixes.

On Shavuos, we read the Book of Ruth, which of course relates the sacrifices made by Riuth's mother-in-law Naomi.

They are simply repackagings of discs already released. In the case of two disc sets (like ST. LOUIS and MY FAIR LADY), they put the first disc from the special editions in the set.

we consider it psychological warfare up here....

Still laugh the year I was in DC  for a 4-H conference and we were playing volleyball in shorts and t-shirts and those from AZ, SoCal and the Gulf coast were in parkas....
