I've got jury duty coming up this month.  I want to get out of it - not because it's jury duty, but because it's way off in Georgetown, which is a drive from here in Rehoboth, and there's little in the way of public transportation.

Unfortunately, Delaware counts as being part of the south, and wearing a hood could count as something entirely different, depending on what color the hood happens to be.

And they're so not my style, anyway.   ::)

Did anyone catch the wonderful Glynis Johns/Margaret Rutherford movie MAD ABOUT MEN that played on TCM the other day...what a cute, funny movie!!! It is about a man hungry mermaid who spends two weeks on land!

I must transfer that one to DVD!!
I take it Margaret Rutherford played the man?

Well, just about time to watch Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.  The Pine Ridge Reservation isn't far from here. I'm really interested in watching this one.

I like doing jury duty.  I take my laptop with me and have a blast waiting all day.

I knew I could get out of it because of Mom but now, I guess I'll not only be ripe for Jury trials but also for the hurricane relief we are forced to take part in at work.  I still won't leave the dogs.  If they are not able to be taken care of, I'm not going to do either.

Cute movie DR MBarnum.  It was one of my Mum's favourites and was often on as a mid-day movie here.

Greetings!  I had a delightful HHW afternoon in NYC.  It was wonderful meeting DRs FJL and elmore3003, who are as charming and delightful in person as they are online. Not to mention paragons of deportment[!].  DR JoseSPiano gave a delightful tour of some of the local NYC eateries [with samples].

DRs JoseSPiano and FJL generously showered me with gifts, which I certainly didn’t deserve.  DR Tomovoz, you would have laughed!  I got:
and…
Not to mention a lovely choral CD which I did not already own.

Finally, DRs Jose and elmore3003 and I supped near elmore3003’s home environment.  We did NOT order dessert [unusual for a HHW gathering!].

The weather was lovely, the food scrumptious, and the company unbeatable.  Thanks to all!  You are generously kind, as well as gentlemen and scholars.  :)

DR JoseSPiano...

I forgot to mention that I watched John Kander's acceptance of the special Drama Desk award to he and Fred Ebb.  As you've indicated, he does truly seem like a humble, kind, and generous man.  I do hope that you can stay in touch with him!

DearReaderLaura, I hope you weren't as close to that snake as it looks in the picutre!  I hope you were using a zoom lens.

They didn't even care that I was there.

I don't think that movie has been made yet, unless it's a National Geographic documentary...

Evening all.

After I brought them back home, I went shopping at Walmart.  One of the things I had to get was dog food and treats.  The toilet has been making noises again so I bought some Plummers Putty and a new flapper.

A NEW FLAPPER.  That is the name of my next novel, written as my personal hoamge to THE GREAT GATSBY.

I hear that Charles Nelson Reilly has died.  I'm sorry to hear that.  I always enjoyed seeing him and he was a very kind man to us at The Drama Book Shop.

Yes...I was portrayed by Julia Roberts.  Or was it Demi Moore?

That's Dorothy Fledermaus.  Her friends called her Dee for short.

I take it that this is NOT the recent West Coast production with Jason Graae and the dashing Mr. Gilfrey?
