So, DR der Brucer...when is the kiddie party?  Or did it happen and I missed it?  And, more importantly...

Are you doing the kitty litter cake?

:)

He may be doing the cake walk

Good Evening!

Whew!

Well, no trip to Central Park today.  Instead, I walked around the Lower East Side (LES for short) for about two hours.  What a really cool neighborhood.  -And, of course, I finally came across some stores/restaurants/food stands that I had only, up until now, read about.  And, yes, I even sampled some foodstuffs along the way.

After walking down 14th Street to Avenue A, I walked down to Houston, the over to 1st Avenue, up 1st Avenue, east on 7th Avenue back to Avenue A, then up to St. Mark's Place (8th street), then back over to 2nd Avenue, then... I eventually hopped on the C Train back uptown at 8th Avenue and 23rd.  Whew!

Cutest store name I came across during my walk: Sympathy for the Kettle (A Tea Shop).  :)

Favorite knosh: The Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie from Birdbath - which is the still relatively new off-shoot of City Bakery.  Besides some wonderful baked goods, Birdbath is a "green bakery" - a very environmentally friendly business.  And I also finally came across City Bakery too.

Has anyone else seen a resemblance between Simon Pegg, the very cute star of Hot Fuzz and our own MBarnum?

A resemblance, maybe.  But I find DR MBarnum cuter and hunkier.  Just ask my Roman Hands.  And DR elmore.  ;)

I'm just sitting here clapping my hands and singing:

Oh, those Golden Grahams!
Oh, those Golden Grahams!
Crispy, crunchy, graham cereal,
Brand new breakfast treat!

...Which, of course, was based on "Golden Slippers".

...Which, of course, reminds me of that Cinderella adaptation that Cleo Laine recorded.

"Golden Slippers".

Ah, but we all know yours are ruby red...

Or is that jungle red?

In any case...

The party is Saturday, and, yes, I will attempt (with Woody's help) the Kitty Litter Cake (I already bought the scoop).

Cool!!  I'll bet the kiddies won't be nearly as grossed out as the parents!

According to my Futurama calendar, to day is Mel Blanc's birthday!  If he were still alive, he'd be 99 years old.  I went to his IMBb listing and in his bio was this paragraph...I think know BK will appreciate this!!:

His license plate read "KMIT." A representative at the California Department of Motor Vehicles asked him if it stood for a radio station, since it's illegal to advertise on a plate. He replied, "No, that's actually an old Jewish expression, 'Know Me In Truth.'" What it actually stood for was "Kish Mir Im Tuchas," a Yiddish phrase meaning "Kiss my ass."

Well... Since my parents closed on their old house last week, I really don't have any place to stay in NoVA.  Well, I do.  So, I'm heading down Friday morning, and I'll stay with my brother that night.  Then I'll head down to Richmond with my parents on Saturday.  Mom's birthday on Sunday.  Then back up to NYC next Tuesday or Wednesday.

I'm seeing the fellow tomorrow and I'll ask him again.  I don't know what their problem is - did you resend your address to them?  If you don't get a response by Friday, send me your address and I'LL send you one.
