SHAZAM!
« on: January 10, 2004, 12:01:52 AM »

Well, yes, I do believe you've read the notes for to have not read the notes you simply don't know what's going on and to simply not know what's going on is to be not with it and we simply cannot have that.  To have and have not, that is the question.  So, post away, dear readers, on our various and sundried topics, and I shall return when she of the Evil Eye has left the home environment.  And hopefully, Fed Ex willing, I will have news on the art of Kritzer Time. 8)

BK says in the notes, "I must write these here notes quickly because she of the Evil Eye will be here at any moment and I will have to beat a hasty retreat."  What kind of cleaning lady comes at midnight??? :D

Very much looking forward to seeing the Kritzer Time artwork.  Love what Harvey Schmidt has done for the first two books.

Bacall/Bogart - I'm afraid that I am woefully ignorant of their films.  Oh sure, I know I've seen one or two for each of them, but can't remember what.

Second Post! :-\

I had originally posted "First Post!" but Jed beat me to the punch.  Darn.  So I modified it to more accurately reflect the true situation.  Then I modified it again to ad this paragraph.  So there.

Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

Strangely enough, I know what SHAZAM stands for...

S - Solomon for Wisdom
H - Hercules for Strength
A - Atlas for Stamina
Z - Zeus for Power
A - Achilles for Courage
M - Mercury for Speed

-The gods who granted Captain Marvel a portion of his/their powers.

Have to get up pretty early in the morning to beat me, George!  Well, actually, no... it usually just requires staying up until midnight and having a bit of luck. :D

My next post shall open up the gates of HHW God-dom to me!  Am I worthy of such glorious environs?  Hell yes, I am!

Anyway, ALMOST 20 pages yesterday (actually, just a few minutes ago)!  It's now past midnight and I have to start to clean my extra bedroom.  I hope it doesn't take too long.  I must get up early and I won't have too much time to work on it tomorrow until my sister shows up with two couches for me to store.

So, Goodnight All and let's all congratulate ourselves for a brand new posting record!

Give that man a ceegar (Jose) re Shazam!  I must, however, turn into Billy Batson shortly so I can get a decent night's sleep.  Not quite yet, though, so I'll be around for a little bit longer to read your excellent posts.

I don't think I've ever seen a Bacall or Bogart film. I really ought to watch some classic films one day.

Zehuti for Wisdom
Aton for Power
Mehen for Courage

-And please note, that his powers came from Egyptian gods, not Greek ones.

Key Largo.
I thought "Shazam" was just a Duane Eddy tune!

Very impressed by Jose's various and sundried SHAZAM knowledge.  Just further proof that most any information can be found here.  Either that or we just all know a bunch of worthless crap. :D

LauraII, hie yourself to a store and get Casablanca.  Then, sit down, watch it with an open mind, and I think you will fall in love with what magic the movies can be.  The DVD is one of the best transfers of a black-and-white film ever.

And finally, in the most recent incarnation, SHAZAM drew his powers from:

Marzosh for Stamina
Arel for Speed
Ribalvei for Power
Voldar for Strength
Elbiam for Courage
Lumiun for Wisdom

Wow - The things your learn and research when workshopping a new musical... and, thankfully, still have on your laptop! ;)

And, DR Jed et al (et frank et sonny et frank), I'll be joining you up there very soon!  Just remember that I prefer linen table napkins over cotton ones.  And please, only Australian or Belgian chocolates on the pillows.

And NOOOOO WIRE HANGERS!!!!!!!

-Wow, I need to stop!  NOW!

BK, I may do that. Casablanca is my aunt's favorite film, and my brother bought her the DVD for Christmas. We meant to watch it while she was here, but we never got to it. I will see her in a few weeks, though, so maybe we will watch it then.

Man!  Have a rough day, visit every once in a while, and everyone has gotten carried away and had a big posting day and then have gone to bed and left you with sniffles, a sore throat and 8 pages of stuff to read through.

Congratulations, Jed, on FINALLY accessing the rarefied heights of Godhood!

Danise:  I am exceedingly sorry if I caused you any embarrassment whatever by taking part of your totally innocent post, removing a sentence or two and casting the remainders in a lugubrious light.

I really DID think it was a post from ____, and then I saw your photo and thought, "This can't be right!"

It's what happens when one is taking meds for a cold and tries to be cognet online!

I'm happy to report that the new season of "Stargate SG-1" started on the Sci-Fi Channel Friday evening and it was good episode.

I'm sorry to report that the followup show -- a new series called "Code Name: Eternity" -- is wholly lame and badly written.  Lots of unintentional giggles...or maybe it wasn't really even bad enough to be funny -- maybe it was the cold medicine.

When DearReaderLaura reads this, I want her to know that I feel very badly for her, and I am absolutely sure she did what she had to do to ensure her much-loved cat had as long and good a life as possible.

I am on watch every day now wondering if I will have to do the same thing -- either when I get up in the morning or when I return home.  I'd much rather Miss Vickie go quietly in her sleep, but it's much more likely I'll have a trip to the vet with the vet recommending lethe.  My only condition is that I be able to hold her and tell her I love her.
