TCB: You know Brent Barrett?

No, not yet. I was supposed to meet him two years ago when he was here in Seattle doing PRINCESSES.  Unfortunately, I got food poisoning the night before.

This time he is just being kind to a friend of BK and elmore, by allowing me to come back after PHANTOM and drool.

I'm coming up to NY for a Bat Mitzvah the end of January. Hope there's some good theatre offerings, or at least a walking/eating/walking/eating tour!

Still, a fun film.  I loved the kid playing Ted Nickerson.  I bet MBarnum knows all about him.  ;)

I love Frankie Thomas and would love to have interviewed him...but alas I was too late in doing so as he passed away last year.  :(

How many people are coming to LA for the benefit concert in November.  Now that will be a show!

Oh, and possibly NY in September / October?

Does this have something to do with Easter?

No. Vacation Bible School.

DR Jose, after your pizza post yesterday (?) I think you will appreciate my partner Peter's comments on local vs. chain pizza in NY:

So, Tony Danza is taking over for Brad Oscar in the Las Vegas production of THE PRODUCERS.  Brad is hysterical in the role, but I am not sure I would enjoy Mr. Danza.

DR Michael Shayne - I'll do some checking.  I think he is the ghost of Melbourne's Princess theatre.  I know I've heard and read stories about him. He is friendly ghost (A Casper reference).

A google search of Melbourne Princess Theatre Ghost will give you all the background.

bk - Congrats on NYMF!

*The AFM rates for the NYMF shows this year have not been finalized yet from what I understand, but they should be settled soon.

I am trying to stay cool in our 95 degree weather in a house with no A/C. Glad I've got big trees to shade some of the house!

Nice picture Edi!!

You are only 5 degrees warmer than us. Fargo hit 90 today

Hmmm.... So....

This is the big Gay Pride weekend here in NYC.  Tomorrow (the last Sunday in June) is the big parade down 5th Avenue - and I actually think I'll be going this year.  I'm going to my friend, Chris, and his partner, Jeff, out with the baby-watching/holding duties - Henry is adorable.  Jeff is also one of the emcee's for the festivities.  There are a couple of dances and "socials" tonight, and I may or may not head down to one of them.  I'm leaning toward not going.  But one never knows.  Do one.

I certainly hope that things work out for BRAIN being in the NYMF.  That musical deserves to be the hottest show in the country (well, not counting LESTAT).

TCB, please give BB a kiss for me.

Doesn't Jason Graae get a big kiss too?

He told me about the night that the tape wouldn't work in your show - funny stuff, told with panache by a funny guy.

I agree TCB, the score and the pieces from THE BRAIN are excellent and I am not just saying that as a poster on this board. It is good!

Oh... I fired up the gas grill on our back patio a bit earlier, and grilled me up some salmon burgers for dinner.  They were pretty good, and at least now I know how long not to cook them.  ;)  -They weren't over-over-cooked, but I think they would have been a little better if I had taken them off the grill one or two minutes earlier.

Alas, getting the grill to start was a bit interesting.  And I also had to clean out the grill.  A lot.  One of the roomies had put charcoal briquets in it last(!) summer, which you really don't need to do with a gas grill.  I didn't realize that she - or anyone else - had not cleaned out the grill since then.  They've used the grill a few times already this season, and it looks like no one ever cleaned it before or after they used it.  Again.  Needless to say, it's clean now, but it does appear that because it was not cleaned out regularly, the igniter rusted out - but that's what matches are for.  In any case...

I'm not normally a "griller", but since I had picked up some salmon burgers from Whole Foods the other day and they had a nice, big "Ready for the Grill" sticker on the package, well...

Tomorrow's dinner:  Tuna burgers.

*And since I had managed to pick up a set of grill-cleaning tools at Williams-Sonoma about two or three years ago when they were on clearance... ;D
