Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I, too, am having oatmeal this morning.  Steel-cut, no milk, no sugar, no blueberries.  Consider it the start of my "atonement" for the past week.  :-\ ;)

I thought you were looking for NY actors. Jason Graae would be my choice, of course. Or Jonathon Freeman. Or David Engel.

TOD:  Go Ask Alice (Like D-T-M, I haven't seen it since it aired as a Movie of the Week, but it seemed pretty good to a kid back then)

Maybe I'll Come Home in the Spring (another Movie of the Week, one I loved because it showed a family that actually had arguments)

TOD: I don't know from drug movies. But I do like the scene in Nunsense when the nun gets high.

Good morning!

We got COOL! What a blessed miracle to be able to cut off the A/C, open the doors and windows, and let the attic fan cool down the house. Heaven on earth!

P.S. Brian Stokes Mitchell for Fred. Not as a drug movie.

You know, I am getting tired of the weatherbug alerts telling me it is hot outside. It is SUMMER in ARIZONA. Of course it is hot outside. The thing has been flashing for the past six weeks and will continue until September.

Thanks for those additional examples of husbands trying to court wives in disguise, DR Elmore. I know it's a hoary plot device that's been around a long time.

And REEFER MADNESS - what a grand selection! It's more hilarious to me than some of Ed Wood's attempts at filmmaking.

Today I'll be finishing up the Teshigahara Criterion set by watching the bonus feature disc. I have an Aaron Eckhart film NEVERWAS to watch, and another with Allison Janney the name of which escapes me.

Well... In an hour or so, DR MBarnum will be heading up to my 'hood for some sight-seeing and a bite to eat.  I think we'll just head down to 125th Street, go by the Apollo Theatre, then maybe take the train down to Central Park West, and check out the Reservoir.  Then send him on his merry way to the airport.  That's the plan for now, at least.

And don't forget another wonderful episode of THE CLOSER is on tap for this evening. The description of it puts Lts. Flynn and Provinza right in the middle of things again, so I can't wait!

As for the Topic of the Day...

The "trip" sequence in "A Home At The End of The World" was particularly well done, I thought.

...And basically any Ken Russell film.  ;)

I have a faint memory of some dopey play or TV show in which parents find what they think is a stash of grass in their kid's room and they decide to smoke it themselves.  They get "high" and act outrageously and say all kinds of things to each other that they normally wouldn't.  Of course, it turns out to be only a bag of oregano.  Like I said--it was pretty stupid but I do remember giggling at some of it.  Probably a LOVE AMERICAN STYLE segment.

SKIDDOO is kind of hilariously bad.

But a fave is called BORN TO WIN, and Ivan Passser film starring George Segal.

And another great one is THE PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK.

Yesterday, I was MBarnum's Bollywood Enabler. Took him out to Little India in Queens, where I promptly went in search of the nearest park to hang out while Michael bought a huge stash of DVDs and CDs. Also two kurtas! He was having the time of his life. We met up for Indian at the Jackson Diner, where Barnum fell in love with one of the waiters, then I gave him another couple hours to shop, and we headed back into the city, where he headed to the Pizza Party, me to rest.

SKIDDOO is kind of hilariously bad.

Except for the credits, sung by Harry Nilsson (who also plays a prison guard!)

If it's anything like the April Fool's Feast...yummm!

I hope they will recover in time to open their home to an influx of Kimlets in September!
