What did everyone have to eat at Joe Allen's?
I'm betting BK had a gargantuan salad.  And Diet Coke.

I'm trying not to use AOL, but this linxsys thing is begin very erratic - it wasn't even an option when I got back, and then it suddenly appeared about ten minutes later, but everything is taking forever to load and the dial-up seems to be working faster.

BK had a shrimp cocktail (great), a bacon cheeseburger (great) and a new Joe Allen item, mac and cheese (really great).  So, I was a good boy, since I hadn't eaten all day.  No dessert, but I did pick up some chocolate licorice.

Bruce, 5 hours plus seems right to me between LA & Newark, Philadelphia, Boston & NY.  Less time was with a good tail wind, which does happen on a regular basis.  Maybe you will get lucky on the way home.

I remember how pleasantly surprised I was when we moved to Michigan & the flight was under 4 ˝ hours, & how unpleasantly surprised I was to find the planes were often smaller & less comfortable.

It is interesting that the flight back ( on United anyways) is slightly over six hours!

Perhaps it is due to a higher number of planes? Or security? Or Jose?

I don't know about Wheat Thins, but Triscuit-Decca-phobia is the fear of vinyl Nabisco products, i think.

Your flight time can vary depending on passing winds.
Which is why in-flight meals rarely include beans.

DR Laura, next time I move I’m offering you an all expense paid trip to wherever I am.

DR MusicGuy is being far too generous. I mostly just fitted the kitchen and living room shelves with the liner. It is one of those time-consuming jobs that needs to be done. I also cleaned the glass shelves, and he let me put the Fiesta dishes and the crystal on the shelves. I unpacked a few kitchen boxes, and he is probably still looking for the stuff I put in the cupboards!

20 minutes to find the answer on Wheat Thins.  Sure was buried - had to go to Kraft, not on the NaBisCo site.

When was the first time you went to NYC?
Dec’1978

How old were you?
29.

Why did you go?
We had recently moved from L.A to New Jersey

What impressed you most?
The rude taxi drivers, all the honking, hot chestnut venders on the street, & watching the ice skaters at Rockefeller center.   I was very excited to see the skaters & was tempted to join them.

What surprised you most?
Getting lost in Harlem & how nice people were when I asked for directions

How did you get there?
By car.

Do you still have any "souvenir" or remembrance you got while you were there?
No.  The only money we spent was for the chestnuts, a hot pretzel & a drink.  I only liked the drink.

Beano helps.

What a slow day at Avenue Q... We had great houses, but slow sales. I won't even be close to making commission this week. Oh, well...

Sorry I missed dinner at Joe Allen. I was working just down the block, though...!

Just opened the bedroom windows - it's better than the stupid air conditioner unit.

Glad BK made it safe and sound to NYC. Be sure to hire Gudda to drive you back to the airport when you depart. And tip him well. He is saving money for a trip to Japan.

Took Dog Bosco into the vet today as I noticed last night that a tooth of his was virtually falling apart  :o

It doesn't seem to hurt him but he will now need some oral surgery...to the tune of about $500.00. Which of course is $500.00 more then I have.

That will teach me to be taking trips to LA and NY. As they say, "Oy."

And in other news I decided to take my first trek up to The Valley Theater in Beaverton (about an hours drive from Salem) to see the new Bollywood movie PARTNER. It is a comedy and I had heard good things about it...it was OK. I laughed a few times, but it wasn't really all that good...it was an ok time pass, I guess.

One good thing about it was that a running gag in the plot was that the star Salman Khan would take his shirt off at the drop of a hat. It wasn't particularly funny...just nice  ;)

Here are two of the stars of PARTNER...Salman Khan and Govinda.
