Back from a lovelier than lovely time with dear readers, FJL, Julie, Jose, elmore, and Noel.  It was a lot of fun.  When we exited the restaurant, it was like walking into a hot sauna.

No messages re actress, so by the time I arrive back in LA it will either be yes, or we'll have offered it to the other actress.

I began my evening of viewing with BROTHERS GRIMM in Blu-ray. It's a half step up from the standard definition version I saw on STARZ! but it isn't leaps and bounds better than CHICAGO or PHANTOM or several others I've upgraded from SD to HD.

Speaking of Matt Damon, in an interview I read with him this week in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, he revealed that he was first offered BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN (I'm assuming Heath Leger's part), but he didn't take it because he had just done MR. RIPLEY and ALL THE PRETTY HORSES back to back, and didn't want to play variations on the last two films he had done.

Next, I put in CHICAGO on Blu-ray and watched four numbers ("When You're Good to Mama," "Cell Block Tango," "We Both Reached for the Gun," and "Hot Honey Rag").

Then, I started watching some of the special features. The special features on the CHICAGO Blu-ray are all ports from the SD version.

I ended my evening with RESCUE ME, a rather uninvolving episode with

Tommy and his wife splitting (again), Mike getting injured in a fire truck accident, Sean trying intervention in order to save his marriage, and Franco being turned down by the Susan Sarandon characterso he'll go back to his finance.

I'm in Midtown (on 44th St, between 9th and 10th Aves.) - fairly close to "Restaurant Row," according to the owner of the apartment building.

I may have to give you a rain check on the Reservoir - but soon enough Jose, soon enough.

Well, Restaurant Row is 46th between 8th and 9th, so you are close.  You're also very near to a couple of other good, cheap places to eat.

Just back from the great gathering at Joe Allen's. BK, FJL, elmore, Jose, Noel and I had a great evening of laughs, conversation and food.  We turned that corner of the room into NYMF central.  A lovely time.  Safe trip home, BK.
