So does DR CASON's BEWKOWSICAL - or whatever it's called - open this week?  We must have photos and news reviews links, of course!!

Yes-sir-re-bob! Bukowsical opens Aug. 11. He's the male understudy -- but he and the female understudy switch off doing "The Lawyer" every other performance. They haven't assigned which performances they'll be doing "The Lawyer" during the musical's run there at the Fringe Festival, but as soon as he knows I'm sure one (or both) of us will be posting those dates.

Cason says Bukowsical is a must see (even though you won't get to see him in the part he was supposed to do on Saturday cause the actor decided not to be in his sister's wedding -- this is my afterthought/comment not Cason's.  He was raving about the musical the other day and is past the disappointment -- it's his mother who needs to get over it.... ). He says it's irreverent, shocking, hilarious, brilliant, lampoonish, entertaining, and push-the-envelope-kind-of-fun.

Good morning!

It got up to 102 here yesterday, an all-time record for that date. The highest ever recorded temperature for Charlotte is 104, so yesterday was something else. It's going to be near-100 today as well.

I hate summer.

I'll be spending afternoon and as much of the evening as needed watching the other special features on the '300' Blu-ray disc.

I had David Mamet's HOUSE OF GAMES on the new Criterion DVD slated to be watched next, but that will be postponed at least a day.

Tonight is BURN NOTICE on USA which I'll record, and I'll watch MAD MEN "live" on AMC.

How ironic that this AMC series is shown letterboxed, but the network would rather DIE than show one of their "classic movies" in widescreen format!

I've still got three Fox Studio Classics that I bought on sale a week or two ago just sitting here unopened. Who has time with everything else that's coming out.

Oh, well, it's not like I haven't ever seen them before (IN OLD CHICAGO, HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY, HOW TO STEAL A MILLION). I'll get to them eventually.

I'd have to say that my mother's mac and cheese was the best I've ever had. My father REALLY loved it (I wasn't a big cheese fan as a kid but as I grew older, I began to like it more) and so we had it A LOT!

Seems you let some of the heat excape north - we hit 97 at the beach yesterday!

Case says the sublet is really nice as well as the owner -- she had even put the air-conditioner on in the bedroom so it was cool when he got there.

(Whew! I had visions of the taxi dropping him off at some vacant lot with a cardboard box sitting there with a sign reading "Sucker! -- ala some movie I saw where the vacationers had that happen with their hotel/motel ... I know, I'm a worry wart, but it was a bit nerve wracking and time-consuming looking for a sublet, especially long distance -- trust me, I talked with a few brokers who made me very uneasy ... and MAD... ).

Hey, you know you can always count on me for a gratuitous post! Everything you need to know about something you don't need to know about....

Haven't done costumes for a play or musical that requires them yet -- but I'll let you know if I ever get to try your suggestion.

A side, never an entree. My dad was a meat eater, absolutely essential that we have it at every meal.

Hey, I'm getting close to a millstone -- 2,500 or does it have to be 5,000 for the confetti and the dancing DRs MusicGuy and Jose in gold lame panties, I mean, undies?

DR Miss Karen - those are the same visions I'm having about the apartment I've rented for DH Richard and myself.  What a relief that DR Cason's lodgings are satisfactory (and then some) - gives me hope for the leap of faith we're taking at the end of next month!

I've never done a "sublet" but in Europe I have rented apartments many times (in Paris, London and Dublin) and though you do take a "leap of faith" I have always been happy with my accommodations.
