Oh, TOMOVOZ, aren't you the sharp one! Yes, thanks, I loved Marc Warren and the sly smack from HUSTLE. I must say that HUSTLE is one of my very favorite shows--little can come close. But CMK was interesting. I have no doubt that lots and lots of people just loved to think he really WAS Kubrick!

From the out of mouthes of babes department.

My almost 2 year old niece today.

1. She stubs her toe and proclaims to me, "oh shoot, auntie, my foo-te, my foo-te".

2. She is at home and picks up the tv remote. She presses a bunch of buttons and turns it on and says, "where's my show?"

3. She is barefoot, finds her sandals,, puts them on and announces bye to everyone, "bye, i going on a trip."

I've had a wonderful dinner at Swagat as the guest of Mr Rodney Gilfry and his delightful daughter Carin. The apartment that was set in June for Carin's life as a Juilliard Student has fallen through, so tomorrow I will spend the day running around the Upper West Side with Rod on an apartment search. Should be fun. And frustrating.

DR Jose, we tried their desserts: Rod had the Indian rice pudding which I thought tasted watery, Carin had mango ice cream, and I had saffron ice cream. Both flavors were quite wonderful, but I haven't figured out yet what the stringy goop over the ice cream could be: spun sugar? ginger? noodles?

Well, I was planning on staying home and watching TV and recording some shows for my friend Margo's kid (which is what I've been doing ALL day), but I just got a call from my friend Josh (we were in Cannibal! The Musical and Taming of the Shrew together) asking if I wanted to go see "The Last Legion" with him and another friend, Bill (who was also in Cannibal and Shrew. I said yes...so, I'm off to the movies. But first, I must get dressed.

Busy relaxing. I must say, I am really glad I've not got sucked into network television in years. I watched a bit of something called Big Brother 8 (I presume there were seven others) and if that's what the world has devolved to count me out of network TV). I then watched the first ten minutes of something called Cold Case. "Hip" direction (well, hip two years ago - it does take TV a while to catch up to movie "hip") that is just stupid and never serves the story, a most unappealing cast of regulars, none of whom I've ever heard of, and a completely idiotic story. And this is what a hit network show is? Count me out.

Good Evening!

Well, here' the short version...

-D Train to Rockefeller Center.
-Bought a nice umbrella at the Tumi Store - I've just always wanted a Tumi umbrella. -Happy Birthday, To Me!
-6 Train to Brooklyn Bridge.
-Walked across the Brooklyn Bridge.
-Walked around the Court House area and part of Red Hook (I think)
-Eventually found my way over to Junior's - the original location.
-Had dinner at Junior's - salad and Hungarian Goulash. Very good. Alas, no room for the the famous cheesecake. -And I didn't even eat all of my noodles that came with the Goulash.
-Walked back to Manhattan, but this time across the Manhattan Bridge.
-Walked through Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho, The Village and Chelsea.
-Stopped a Pinkberry for some of their frozen yogurt topped with mochi.
-Grabbed the A Train up at 23rd Street. Transferred over to the D (express) at Columbus Circle.
-And now I'm home...

...And will probably head out for a bit. Again. "She" is home with her boyfriend, and I gave her a big "hint" about the stuff she left in the fridge the past two weeks - which I finally ditched and cleaned this afternoon - and also asked her if she still needed the cookie sheet. -The one she left out two weeks ago (which she used to make the stuff I threw out earlier). Ah, the joys of passive-agressiveness. Or whatever this bit of childishness is supposed to be called.

All in all, a wonderful day, and as DR Noel mentioned, the weather was actually pretty decent. Temps just hovering around 80, partly cloudy skies, lower humidity. Made for perfect picture taking conditions - and, yes, I took a bunch of pictures. -Which I will post once I get them downloaded from my camera and formatted.

DR elmore - The ice cream topping was most likely faloodeh or falooda which is made with broken pieces of vermicelli. There's an Indian pudding that's made with bits of noodles instead of rice, payasam, and sometimes it becomes a sauce.

bk - As for early morning jogs, well... I like to stay a bit closer to home (the 140s) when I go for a run. And I've also never really been much of an early-morning jogger. Although, with my upcoming schedule, I may have to become one.
