All this talk about pizza has made me want one.

I am having spaghetti for lunch, though.

And I've a rib eye in the refrigerator for din-din.

sigh.

PIZZA!

Okay, DR Jeanne is the little angel on your right shoulder saying in the sweet voice "Go for a walk, Dear BK" while Mz Karen is the little devil on the left shoulder saying in her Exorcist voice, "DONUT, DAMN IT!"

Walk, donut?  Walk, donut?  ...  DONUT, DAMN IT!

LOL. Yes, I was thinking something very similar while writing that post.

Are you reading my mind, Miss K? Now THAT could get you in trouble!

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I ended up falling asleep last night and waking up to this morning a new recording of Bach's "Goldberg Variations" by the pianist, Simone Dinnerstein.  I had seen a few write-ups about her and her recording over the past few weeks, and since it was on sale at Virgin yesterday, well...

Of course, I ended up listening to almost all of the 30 variations and the da capo of the Aria before I finally drifted off to sleep last night.  As most of the reviews have indicated, this is not your "Father's Goldbergs".  Even the main Aria upon which the following variations are based is imbued with more, well, "musicality", than I've ever heard before.  -The repeat of the first section is actually haunting in a way - I ended up hitting the rewind button a few times last night just to listen to it again, amazing sense of color and control.

And when I woke up this morning... It was a good thing to wake up to.  Alas, I also found out that there's a bad area on the disc - lots of skipping in one of the variations - so I'll have to take it back to Virgin today for an exchange.  However, what wasn't skipping was still quite a fascinating and illuminating listen.

Glad to get your feedback on this, JOSE. I was reading about her just the other day. Sounds like it's well worth a listen.

What is this Eldar stuff?  Is this guy out of his teens yet?  I saw a couple of his CDs yesterday at Academy - is he the Craig Huxley of 2007?

Listening to the soothing sounds of Walter Wanderley and his trio doing marvelous Bossa Nova tunes - I have the window open and a wonderful cool breeze is permeating the place and I'm quite relaxed and thinking I must have all of Mr. Wanderley's output now.

Since it's on the final track of the CD, perhaps I'll turn on the television and see what's what.

I'd actually like a list of who's coming to The Brain when - it would be helpful to know.  Perhaps Vixmom got the two shows mixed up, and I do hope WFO will be attending all three of the hainsies/kimlets shows, just as I hope everyone here will be.  I think most folks are coming to our closing performance on the 30th, is that right?  But if anyone is coming to other performances, let me know that, too.  Thanks.

I will be attending the closing performance of each of the three shows.

Off to the train station to pick up out of town guests [from Wilmington, DE] who will be staying with us for the remainder of the holiday weekend.

Gee, slingblade, you are certainly generous to your guests!  They get to stay one night and call it a weekend.  Wow!

How exciting it is to go to the NYMF website and see the cover of THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X CD come to life as an animated ad for the musical at the top of the page.  At the same time, on the left side bar is an ad for SUCH GOOD FRIENDS.  Then I go to the update for THE LAST STARFIGHTER and find out that Joseph Kolinski has joined the cast of the show as Centauri.  I can't believe how excited I am getting about three productions that I will not get to see.
