He is young enough to be my son, and that's just kinda gross.

And if Sandra brings him home to meet The Parents?

Then I'm sure he's a very nice boy just making money for his post-graduate degree.

I've not played mah jong for over 20 years but still have a set here. It always seemed more like Canasta to me.

Good morning, DR tomovoz! and good morning, all!  With all the major bits of Brain surgery finished, I'm down to "The Brain Tap," and that will be finished by tonight.  I have a breakfast date with the wonderful Susanna Moross Tarjan, daughter of GOLDEN APPLE's Jerome Moross, then a trek to Toyland for several hours.  I will then hie myself back here for work on the last Brain number, followed by some DVD viewing: I've got my things from Friday waiting and yesterday I received Seasons 1 & 2 of the  outrageous IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, surely one of the most ironic titles in tv history.

When I was in college, I wrote a one-act musical about political corruption set in the 1920s in Chicago (about 6 years before the Kander & Ebb musical).  In the whorehouse scene, there was a "Mah Jong Tango."

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And, boy, did I zonk out last night!

I was already feeling quite sleepy around 8:00, so by 8:30 I just decided to lie down on the couch, and if I fell asleep, I fell asleep.  Well, next thing I knew it was 11:30, and then I somehow, gradually dragged myself to my bedroom and bed where I promptly fell asleep (again).  Guess I needed the sleep.

DR Jane - I hope Iona is safe and sound back home by the time you're reading this post.  -Are there any plans for her to come back for a visit over the course of the next year?  Or for Craig to go visit her?

DR Jane (again) - I also keep meaning to ask regarding Craig's medical school applications... Why so many?  I think you originally listed at least 8 different schools, which sort of seems like a lot to me.  Heck, I can't imagine racking up all those application fees?  Or is it "normal" to apply to that many schools?  -I only ask because my roommate's boyfriend applied for a couple of medical schools last year.  He only applied to four schools, and he seemed swamped with just completing those four applications.

Hmm... "The Emmys" are on tonight...

Who will be watching?  -I think I'm going to be seeing Zorba at The York tonight.

Is it "Live" to both coasts?  Will spoilers have to be posted?

Who do you want to win?  Who should have been nominated?  Who should not have been nominated?

Etc., etc., etc.

Oohhh.. A high of 68 degrees for today.  :)

*Although, I do suspect that we'll probably get some Indian summer days over the next couple of weeks.  It wouldn't be late September or early October without them.  ;)

Well, today's rehearsal of Mary Poppins will consist of a review of everything we've taught the Janes over the past two weeks.  I still have a few hours until rehearsal begins, but I want to get down there a bit early just to get warmed up.  All of the "stuff" is finally starting to sink in and settle into my fingers and brain.  It's just a lot of stuff, a lot of music - and probably more than I thought it would be initially.  But little by little, number by number, it's all starting to feel comfortable - well, at least more comfortable.

THE SUNSHINE BOYS is over and done, set is struck, costumes gone, props put away.

We had a wonderful audience last night - with laughs and much applause at the end.

So my summer theatre is over....and since I am not cast in STUFF HAPPENS, I don't know if I will be doing any theatre until next June, time will tell.

VIBES for Miss Callie and her owner.

DR td - I received NO RESPONSE from my email....so I am shunned.  Hmmmmmm.....oh well......

I always had a mixtuire of sadness and exhilaration at the end of a show. Sad especially if I loved the show and the people, but usualy happy to have nights to myself without the constant worry over lines, performance, etc.

Last night DR der Brucer wrote:

"Our local COMCAST has BBC America and Torchwood in its On-Demand service - so we can rewatch episodes any time in the next month."

Time-Warner has it, too, but as Saturday night is usually such a wasteland anyway, I don't mind either watching it "live" or, as I did last night, recording it at 9 and watching it at 10 and speeding through commercial breaks.

Yes, the Emmys are tonight, and as probably the biggest TV fan on this forum, I will be watching to see who wins the awards. I will not be watching on-line, however, so I'll be back here after the show with some thoughts. No spoilers as I know it won't be carried live on both coasts at the same time like the Oscars.
