Yesterday I got up, I was taken out to breakfast... (IHOP has a fruit crepes special going on.....)

The the Vixter and I started on her room.... she has several hundred thousand million billion trillion stuffed animals, beanie babies and the like and we are separating them into catergories:

securely wrap and box and place in the garage loft

Give away/garage sale

keep as bed decoration

The garage loft may have to be seriously reinforced to handle the load

I cheated, I have a Brit in the house... he often said that rhyme to  baby Vixter while jiggling her on his knee

I believe the next bit is

I did grow up hearing

Ride a cocked horse to Banbury Cross and never knew what it was about until my inlaws took me to see Coventry Cross and explained about the death of a beloved Queen (I forgot which one I am afraid) and the King's (yeah, don't know his name either) tribute to her, having crosses erected  in every city in which the funeral procession  stopped on the sad journey back to London to inter her body

St Clement Danes is at the begiining of Fleet Street

I heard that one growing up too...

Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross
To see a find lady upon a white horse
with rings on her fingers and bells on her toes
She will have music wherever she goes

The rhymes were still used in a party game when I was a child.

vixmom - Thanks for the good wishes.

But let's not take anything away from the other HHW NYMF shows, which are in theaters larger than ours (their theaters have 199 to our theater's 160).

Vixdad told me it was a rhyme to teach the children the names of the different churches in London... I don't know about the chopper bit I shall have to ask him about that

I watched ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS early this evening. It was my first time with the film, and I found it charming, engrossing, and surprisingly well done. Yes, the effects were rather low grade, but who cares after all these years? Its charms are still plentiful, and Paul Mantee has a gorgeous body, well worth waiting all these years to see.

I also watched the documentary ported over from the laserdisc, and it was enjoyable too showing how accurate the science was for the time in which the movie was made. Also an eye-opener.

English  nursery rhymes are all a bit gruesome though aren't they?

Bridges falling down, people turning to ashes and falling down, mice getting their tails cut off (as if it wasn't bad ennough that they were already blind).. there is just no joy in an English nursery rhyme!!!

I watched some initial sketches and storyboards for the film in another bonus feature, but I haven't gotten to the commentary yet. I'll listen to it tomorrow.

I did watch the Emmys. Bravo to Fox for FINALLY broadcasting them in high definition, a first for the Emmys (the Oscars have been in high def for years. The Tonys still aren't.)

Didn't like the in-the-round set, but I applaud the effort at trying to be different. Ryan Seacrest is such a smarmy host on IDOL, but that kind of persona works on that show. On the Emmys, one needs a little more or something else, I think.

I wasn't going to talk about the winners since the West Coast is just now getting the broadcast, but looks like bk has spoiled anyway.

Stil, I'll say I think only a couple of awards were disappointing for me. I like the Best Comedy Series winner, but there are two others that I think are better, more consistent shows. Best Drama was no surprise. The acting awards were mostly deserved, but I would have gone a different way with Best Actor/Drama and Supporting Actor/Drama though both men are talented. I couldn't argue with any of the actress winners tonight. But the competition is so intense for these prizes since all of them are talented and are given wonderful scripts to act each week. The choices are awlays hard.

Many thanks, Bruce, for announcing the Emmy winners for those of us on the West Coast where the show is currently being shown tape-delayed to air in primetime.  The show isn't an hour old here yet.

I thought maybe the forum would be like when the Tonys are done, so I logged on to see reactions as the winners were revealed.

I'll now find something else to watch.

Oh!!

This just in...

"Surprise good news...Sarah has finished her last round of chemo!!! We were expecting it to go for another 2-3 rounds, but the doctors want to give her a break and do the scans to see just where we're at. we all have mixed emotions about this, but hell, what do we know??? We will keep you all informed as always. she's still feeling nauseous and her throat is still a little sore. depending on the results of the scans, we will either go back for another couple of rounds of chemo, or just go onto monthly monitoring, from there if all is going well, every six months and hopefully from there every year for at least five years. srah hopes to get back to school some time this coming week. her teachers and classmates are also hoping for this since they miss her and want to know more about what she went through and is going to go through. sarah is still writing her "memoirs" and one of the teachers at Sloan said she would help her polish them up and publish them once complete. Sarah thinks she'll become a millionaire by doing this, ah the exhuberance of youth. So we all still remain cautiously optomistic. we all know that there's still a long road ahead of us, but we keep forging ahead one day at a time. til the next update, thanks and keep the faith."
