You do NOT want composite cables. (Those are the yellow-red-white). That is the lowest level of video quality you can get. Component cables (blue-green-red) will give you beautiful image quality. You'll need separate cables for sound. If you're going straight from the DVD player into the TV, then you use the red-white for audio. Hopefully, you get your sound from a surround receiver.

Aha! Well, I do have the Component cable connecting one of the machines to the TV...but, I am using the composite cables for one of the other machines.

I am watching the DVD of GHIDRAH THE THREE HEADED MONSTER right now and it does look good.

I will do the THX thing with Bambi, thanks for your help MattH!

And thanks for the moral support JRand, Jose, TD, Vixmom.

I am sure by this time next week I will LOVE my new tv.

I am just more of a plug and play sort of guy, though.

And looking at the back of my DVR Comcast machine it does have a plug for HDMI....so I guess I have the HD capable machine...I just need that HDMI plug...which I will go and get tomorrow.

Because tomorrow is another day.

DR MBarnum - I'm happy that you're feeling better about the teevee, and that we at HHW have done our part in bringing a little color and light into your night.  ;D

DR MBarnum - Well, I'm glad that I made you laugh. It's the least I could do, especially after you let me lead you into the Ramble in Central Park.

I'd post a memorable quote from the film CRUISING, but this is a family site. . .

Goodnight.

I'm done with movie watching - first watched a movie I TIVOd that I've always wanted to see but which disappeared instantly after its 1970 release.  After that, I watched a DVD that I've had for heaven-knows how many years - truly one of the worst films EVER made.

Mr. Filichia liked all three - The Brain From Planet X, The Last Starfighter and Such Good Friends:

George, I am curious why you went all the way to Federal Way to go to Trader Joe's, instead of stopping at the one in Tacoma.  Is the Federal Way store larger?

Well...I've never been to the one in Tacoma because I don't know where it is.  Friends of mine who have gone to it say that it takes just as long to get to that one as the one in Federal Way.

I called my doctor's offce yesterday morning and in the middle of talking talking to the nurse sudrenly was hit with one of those coughing fits... she hung onpastienly and when I could breathe again  she asked. "How long has that been going on?"  "Since Wednesday" "Can you come in right now?"  I could and I did
