Edi, Thanks for the vibes.  I once thought I had that but it was something else.  Stretching is almost always good.

This begins on the top of my foot & works up into my ankle.  It is definitely the result of Sherlock running full speed through the back of my foot & continuing on, knocking me down in the process.  My foot and ankle were rather swollen for about a week & then I SLOWLY began to heal.  I think returning to my regular exercise & jogging some is what triggered the relapse.  My ankle really hurt last night & this morning after jogging yesterday when I needed to keep up with Sherlock.

I just can't stop hiking right now-it is too beautiful & I will get very depressed if I do.  So I won't take the advice I would give anyone else & will keep going until I can't. :)

Yes, that's our guest cottage in the background.

You'll be hosting the next HHW gathering?

I've had plantar fasciitis, also. My doctor had an anti-inflammatory that took care of it.

I should have gone to a doctor and gotten something to take for it, too. I'm sure it would have gotten better faster.

Jane, have you tried icing it down?

I hope he is recalled because of this!

Jail and a huge fine would be even better. :)

I've done icing, when it is swollen.  I don't think it is right now.

I went to the doctor and went to the physical therapist and it still took 6 months to get over my plantar fasciitis

Question for SWW/Jose or anyone else who wants to chime in:

Greg and I are having dinner with James Ivory Thursday night. Our host is cooking several dishes from Ismail Merchant's cookbook---Indian food---A shrimp appetizer and a chicken dish.

She has requested red wine, and since there will be 9 people there, I think, I plan to bring 3 bottles of red wine. (Her sister is also bringing one.) I think she chose red because that's her favorite, and what she thinks most people would like, whether or not it would actually go with the food.

So, any recommendations for a red wine that goes with Indian food, in the $20-30 range?

Slingblade, you are so warm and comforting to everyone!  I think you and Nurse Jane should open a spa together.

;D  Looks like there's room in the garden.

I love Mahler, and although I don't like graffiti, I think I wouldn't mind this...

You've never tried his cooking.

He handles the car, I handle the kitchen.

I think she should also have white wine for people, like myself, who can't drink red wine without getting very ill.

Litttle Boo has become a total terror every night. I think she believes it's a game.  Now she's sleeping on my lap. She's just too adorable to stay mad at for more than a minute

I'm not an expert on wine, and have no experience with Indian cuisine.  (I'm equally inexperienced with native American dishes.)

However, zipping over to Dornenberg and Page's What to Drink with What You Eat, you might want to consider the following types of wine:

     Beaujolais or Beaujolais-Villages
     Merlot (esp. with chicken)
     Pinot Noir
     Rose (esp. with spicy dishes)
     Shiraz/Syrah

Avoid fine wines, wines with high alcohol, high tannins, and oakey wines.

They also suggest Champagne, particularly of the rose varieties.  Bubbles should match those spices quite nicely!

TD,
Glad to hear that most of the money has been recovered. I'm pleased for you and your mum, and also pleased to hear that the bank cared and seemed to be handling the situation well.

Glad to hear you're all drinking your cherry juice. BTW, Trader Joe's sells cherry cider, which is quite tasty and I would think it would give all the benefits of traditional cherry juice.

I cannot blame Jose (this time) since the bank and I know whodunnit.

Jose uses many aliases.
