Just saw a short film called NO ORDINARY JOE, which included the line "It all ends in disappointment, but there is beauty along the way," spoken in the film (I believe) by a character who was supposed to be Joe Orton.

Interesting thought, does anyone know where it originated?

Ok, maybe it's just me but the news is talking about the Republican Presidential Debate falling apart.  The big Repub here in town is interviewed wearing....lederhosen...lol and they wonder why no one is taking that debate seriously???

No knowledge of the line DR FJL. I do like "Prick Up Your Ears"though.
About time I rewatched that.

Really enjoyed the spring pictures, but I'm glad it's fal here rather than spring. I'm ready for some heavier clothes after this sweltering summer we're had.

I've had an interesting evening of viewing.

I began with the Blu-ray of MEET THE ROBINSONS. Stunning clarity, of course, and much more fine object detail than you could ever get with standard def DVDs. Of course, that HD "pop" that you want the film to have is there in spades.

The Blu-ray also adds another game and three additional deleted scenes (including an alternate ending) to what was on the regular DVD.

I wasn't expecting those added features so I didn't have time to watch anything else before prime time started. As it happened, that worked out OK.

GHOST WHISPERER had a really disturbing episode about a stalker, and the ending was truly frightening. Had me jumping out of my chair.

MOONLIGHT had a wonderful episode, too, as Mick went on the lookout for a witness who was being hunted by a mobster's hit man.

A very emotional climax which left me wondering where they're going to take the show now.

WOMEN'S MURDER CLUB was an OK episode tonight. I did like the resolution to the story, and I fast forwarded through all the lovey-dovey stuff at the end.

Since I could speed through the commercials and through two of the women making out with their significant others, I had time to squeeze in 30 ROCK. Pretty good episode that focused on Alec Baldwin's cookie jar collection and Jane Krakowski's inability to stay fat.

TOmorrow I'll get to some of the other TV that's stored on the DVR, and then in the evening, I'll watch the Blu-ray of SCARY MOVIE. It's short, and there aren't a ton of bonus features on the disc, so I should be able to get to TORCHWOOD tomorrow night after it's aired, and I can speed through the commercials there, too.

After many tries at finding a subtitled release of this movie (tonights Bollywood film) I finally located it via Amazon.com.UK!

ASA NU MAAN WATNA DA stars my favorite Punjabi singer, Harbhajan Maan.

The story is about Indians living in Canada and one family's parent's desire to return to their homeland to retire. Great music...this film has one of my all time favorite soundtracks.

I'm back from the awards dinner. I sat at James Ivory's table, so I was able to ask him about the film DR Elmore inquired about: THE PLAYMAKER. Ivory is producing it, and he doesn't know what's going on with it, frankly. He said it has been on again, off again for some time now. At one point they were talking to Peter Weir about directing, but he objected to something in the script regarding aborigines which he thought was racist. So I don't think we can expect to see it any time soon.

He also thanked my friend for arranging for WIF to honor him. "Thanks for the lift", he said. At first I thought he might be depressed about Ismail (one group of clips had an interview with the both of them). It turned out that he was down because Anthony Hopkins is suing him for not getting paid by a certain time for the film they are still editing.

Although I think of James Ivory as a mega-director, he still has to struggle to get his films made and has never really made much of a profit.

I think the idea of Hopkins suing him is quite unseemly!

Afterwards we went to a party for our local film critic who was also honored. She used to be married to a friend of mine who died suddenly of a brain tumor a few years ago. I had never been to their house but he had designed it for her, with a 24 seat screening room in the basement, and just a gorgeous house on one of the nicest streets in Atlanta. (When I knew him, he lived in a dumpy ranch house, so I was quite surprised!)

We only went to this party because we wanted to meet up with the president of WIF and her sister and our friend John, who edits for James Ivory. But they never were able to find the house and then John got a call to meet with his producer so here we were at this party that we weren't even officially invited to.

I did bring Eleanor a copy of S&V, just in case she feels moved to review it for the paper.

And now, to sleep!

Finished with four fun rehearsals - Kirsten Benton Chandler, Greg Jbara, Vicki Lewis, and Patrick Cassidy.  So nice to see my old pals Greg and Vicki again.

Today at work, I listened to the revival cast recording of Damn Yankees that I got autographed Wednesday night by Tony AwardŽ winner Jarrod Emick and it also has Greg Jbara and Vicki Lewis on it!  What a coinkydink! Cheesy
