Remember the bodily function that was being discussed here the other evening?  Well, one of our bottom-feeders did "it" on the floor, right in front of my grants reference collection  :P

And people wonder why I don't want to work with the public. ::)

Next, I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No interest for me there today. The previews for next week did feature a quick bit with the gay characters.

Thanks, DR der Brucer.  I was afraid we were just being old fuddy-duddies.

One would hope that manners would never go out of style; however.....

I ended my afternoon with an HD episode of LAW & ORDER on TNT-HD. This was the episode that won Elaine Stritch her first Emmy Award (she played a feisty defense attorney). Her client, a suburban mom who had been turning tricks on the side and killed a man who threatened to bring her secret life out into the open, was played by Felicity Huffman.

Thanks for the vibes, DR George.  As I'm beginning to think about what I want to be when I grow up retire, one of the only things I know for sure is that it won't entail working with the general public.  Enough is enough.

Well, for once, I have to disagree with DR JoseSPiano but I think Dame Andrews does a great job with I'm Not Getting Married; it is a tour de force actually since she sings all the parts of the song, which is, here, not supposed to be the version from the original show but something taken out of its context and adapted to a "new" work. And we get to hear all the words...

And I still believe that Dame Andrews is a heck of a good interpreter of Sondheim's songs! Too bad she never got to release a whole cd of such songs!

I'll just sat to DR JoseSPiano: "Qu'il mange du gâteau de chez Levain!!"

A very special thank you to DR Jeanne.

DP Colin and I have now watched the first two hours of "Lilies".

Wonderful.

And, yes, Uncle Jojo finally bought a new pair of shoes.  Well, two pairs of new shoes.  So, I guess I bought a pair of a pair or shoes.

::)

Run Jo Jo Run

Perhaps Steve Lawrence will sing sing about them.

TOTD:
DVD:  Lilies - Series one
CDs. Pet Shop Boys Disco 3
Astrid Gilberto - The Girl From Ipanema.

How many times has Astrid recorded this I wonder. (It has a sort of Disco Beat and includes Nilsson's "The Puppy Song" and Porter's "Love For Sale"

My two cds were $2 each.

And the word of the day is: PECCAVI!
Despite all attempts to CAP VICE and and other crimes in the county, the Sheriff was forced to admit failure when certain tapes surfaced and he had to confess "PECCAVI!"

Yesterday's flu shot has made me feel woozy all day.  I think I'll go lie down for a bit.

I'll be back later.   :P

Only 5 pages on a Friday afternoon?

TOD - been listening to Chess this afternoon.  A mix of the Concert CD, the London CD and the Broadway CD.

Other than that, short rehearsal for A Christmas Carol this eve and then maybe an early night to bed.
