Yes, DR SINGDAW....I am still trying to figure out how that bird in THE GIANT CLAW could be both prehistoric AND extraterrestrial....or as the scientist says: "Extra-terreschull."

And ordinary record hop....is there such a thing?

I, for one, am back from the book signing - a good turnout and I had a nice time.  I went to Gelson's and got some of their chicken noodle soup - it was weird - not bad, but weird, almost Chinese-tasting.

I've finished all the Twin Peaks special features, so it's time to move on to something new, although I don't really want to start a film tonight.

BONES had a wonderful episode (mystery only fair and easy to guess the culprit, all other stuff excellent), and I recorded it so I could watch it again later in the week. The character interaction on this show is simply wonderful.

Line of the year:

Thanks for the gum!

Listening to a really fun recording of Gershwin's Rhapsody In Blue and Concerto in F by Mantovani and Julius Katchen.  I'm sure there are better recordings (this one's in sparklingly sparkling monophonic sound - a gorgeous recording), but I don't know that I've had more fun listening to these two pieces.  But then again, I'm a Mantovani fan, and Katchen is a wonderful pianist.

I checked out the transfers of Mary, Queen of Scots and Anne Of The Thousand Days, a Universal two-fer - both look fine.  The problem with both films, of course, is that they are directed by the wholly untalented Charles Jarrott, the man who gave the world Lost Horizon, The Musical.

My work schedule makes it tough to see it but I would like to sometime.  If the strike continues, I will probably be able to catch reruns.
