Well, there's a light sprinkling of snow on the grass here now - enough to make it a white yard - so, to get as far away from the chill in the air, I watched my SuperBit dvd of LAWRENCE OF ARABIA. Hard to believe that the film's restoration was nearly two decades ago!  I saw that restoration on the big screen and was blown away by it:  a 70mm print in all its glory, that incredible Maurice Jarre score in Dolby Digital, that incredibly imagery all added up to the perfect motion picture in my book.
I still feel that way.  It's an awe-inspiring presentation on dvd, even if the intermission comes a half-hour into the second disc.

Were they very short films?  LAWRENCE's running time is quite lengthy.

How was Tin Man Part 1?

Interesting, but as I noted before, not engaging.

Part II - more of the same.

Mentally drained and wandering....

My feelings and emotions are all over the place. Last rites were given. Thank you for the vibes, you are all great people....

I hope John will keep my big cold natured cat warm while we're away.

Imagine how Mrs. Slocum would phrase that sentiment 8)

Dakota, I hope things go as easily as possible for your father. I am very glad you are able to be there with him.

Greg and I send you mega-vibes and hugs.

and to top it off, I really laid into the Aunt Vulture who said her husband did not have time to talk to us. He was busy.

I gave her an earful and told her that this was her husband's borther that was dying and he had the right to know the information. I really wanted to conduct some bodily injury. Too bad she lives in the Twin Cities or I would have given her a real choice of my mind.

I've been going through the script of the musical I'm mentoring, trying to focus it, make it smoother and cut about ten pages.  This is just act one we're working on now.

Not even whether you liked it or not?

C'mon!

Who would have such a death wish as to claim not to like The Closer?

A most enjoyable episode - I bet they had fun decorating the Atlanta house!

It was fun to hear all the references to communities and malls, etc. in Atlanta.

OK...I'll bring them with me, the way they're cut in the big show.

Oh, don't waste your emotional energy on that spiteful woman - be glad you are there for your Dad.

I wish we had a mentor on our show. :-\ It's been fun, but there is a lot of extra/repetative stuff that just doesn't need to be there.  And our writer doesn't want to cut ANYTHING.  And our director can't get him to realize that.

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Quote
EXTREME PACIFIC STORM BATTERS NORTHWEST WITH 100 MPH WINDS, MAJOR FLOODING

OLYMPIA, Wash. —  Major flooding and high winds that downed trees and knocked out power left two people dead and closed a major interstate highway in southwestern Washington, officials said Monday.

Gov. Chris Gregoire declared a state of emergency in response to the brutal winter storm that hit Western Washington, and said "we haven't seen the worst yet."
...
"Washingtonians have endured quite the weekend," the governor said, adding that the danger from floods was not likely to subside until Thursday. Her emergency declaration puts thousands of National Guard troops on standby if local officials need help.
...

In Olympia, the rain turned a normally small creek into a roiling, muddy surge of water that tore through a wall at the Ranch House BBQ. Tables and booths were strewn across the street, and a storage shed was pushed about 300 feet away.

Christy Romo, who lives just up the hill from the restaurant, said she could hear the floodwaters coming and started packing before the first floor of her cabin was inundated.

"I knew I wouldn't have much time," Romo said. "I heard a bang, and then saw the water rising quickly."

Nice to know the NG will be available to ensure that George gets to work.
