Well, you've read the notes, the notes were stirring, and now it is time for you to post until the Christmas cows come home.

I have to pack the car. DH and I are traveling to northern NJ this morning to spend two days with my Mom and her sister.  My sister and her DH will also be joining us.  And it will be a party, too, as my DH's birthday is tomorrow - St. Stephen's Day.  Good King Wenceslas looked out, on the Feast of Stephen...   My workplace is open tomorrow, the 26th, but I am taking a vacation day.  Oh, and chocolate lab Cody is visiting, so there will be dogs aplenty, cavorting!

Well, I've heard of Bene Wafers, which are a kind of savory cookie made with sesame seeds.

So a BENE FACTION would be a group of people who give Bene Wafers to the poor, right?

But I don't think the wafers would CONTAIN BEEF.  They'd spoil too quickly if they did.

Try this with a Boston accent.  Means something quite different.

Der Brucer's television woke me in the middle of the night, and I haven't been able to get back to sleep due to all the screaming.

The movie that was on was A Christmas Story, and the scene was where Ralphie was visiting Santa Claus, and all the kiddies were screaming the moment they were plopped on his lap.

Personally, I don't blame them, but their screaming woke me up and I haven't been able to get back to dreamland since.

*sob*

(At least my eye wasn't put out.)

Good morning and Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!

I love all the photos of decorations posted the last several days. I so love Christmas lights, tacky or not.

Christmas Morning Greetings!  Rob and Mary Linda are on their way to Michigan and Richard and I are about to leave for church in Cincinnati.  We'll go to my mom's on the way home and I may stay for a movie outing with my girl relatives to see Enchanted.  We have a "girl" for each decade of age:

My mother (80s)
My aunt (70s)
My sister (60s)
Myself (50s)
My niece (40s)

As of next Thanksgiving Day, when my mother turns 90, we won't have that sequence again until my niece turns 50 in 2013.

Have a wonderful day, all!

Good morning!

I'm up and on the net earlier than usual. I have to soon head for the showers to clean up for my SWEENEY TODD outing.

Cold here this morning and the sun is trying to break through the clouds, but it has a fight on its hands.

I've already described most of the Christmas DVDs, Blu-rays, and CDs that I got (I'm not sure if I mentioned getting the GOODBYE, MR. CHIPS soundtrack and the Cerveris/Lupone SWEENEY TODD as gifts from dead friends.)

I did get the Jane Froman biography from my former college roommate that I also think I neglected to mention.

Best friend John has tentatively invited me over tonight for a Christmas dinner, so the turkey, dressing, etc. that I cooked yesterday on Christmas Eve may not continue to get eaten until tomorrow.

He is anxious to watch SHOW BUSINESS: THE ROAD TO BROADWAY since we saw WICKED and AVENUE Q together on one of our NYC trips some years ago, so if I head over there tonight, I'll be taking that with me. I've already watched it once with friend Gregg, but I enjoyed it so much that another viewing so soon after the first wouldn't bother me at all.
