Ah, the three B's!  :)

Or, in some cases, Basses, Baritones, and Bitches!

In the interview with Steve Davislim he did mention the difference between Pit Bull Terriors and sopranos.

I fear that I shall be in bed fast asleep long before the ball drops [on either coast!].    :P

Perhaps you should drop your ball earlier.

Shayne, what on Earth is that picture from???  The only time I remember wearing glasses on TV was in an episode of Lucas Tanner, but I don't think that was from 1975.  Do tell.

It was from your second appearance on Happy Days February 15, 1975
The Howdy Doody Show where you played Mark the editor of the school newspaper. You played a worthy adversary to Richie Cunningham. Too bad they never brought you back.

Question for the NYC HHWers...

Have any of you ever gone to Times Sqaure to ring in the New Year?

I was there for the year 1978 turning into 1979. . .or was it 1977 turning to 1978? ? ?
Oh!  it was the latter, 'cos I saw PETE'S DRAGON at Radio City Music Hall on that trip.
Had a standing spot up close, and wonder of wonders, a good friend of mine back home, who hadn't really known I was in NYC, spotted me on one of the channels broadcasting - she described what I was wearing (a camel colored coat with dark fur collar) and the people right next to me (a red-headed tall woman and a dusky blonde woman, shorter than the red head).
I just found the whole thing fascinating in that the whole of Times Square empties so quickly once the ball has dropped and "Auld Lang Syne" has been sung. . .

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I , of course, am not here as I am at work.  I have to work a full day and then we are off to our friends' home for an all night house party and "sleepover" with festivities to continue the following day. This is the first year in 20 years that this party has not been at my house and I am not sure if I am sad or relieved.

So I am afraid my E & T ness will continue until at least midweek
but I will be raising a glass to all of you and wishing you all

JOY, LOVE, HEALTH , PEACE and PROSPERITY IN 2008!!!!!

Oh, and Vixmom, try to keep your skirt on this year!

As for the Topic of the Day...
Work-wise, I've had some pretty heady moments... Getting to work on All About Us with Mr. Kander and that great cast and crew up at Westport County Playhouse...  Starting my stint as a rehearsal pianist and keyboard sub for the revival of A Chorus Line...  Playing for some "Stars" and "stars" at numerous(!) audition calls throughout the year...  Getting a last minute call to play for a workshop for and on the Disney Cruise Line...  Continuing my relationship with various casting agents and musical directors/conductors...

People-wise, well... Getting to meet David (a.k.a. DR singdaw), Amy (a.k.a. DR edisaurus) and her ever-lovin' Greg, Cason (a.k.a. DR Cason), Karen (a.k.a. DR MissKaren), Sam (a.k.a. DR Samantha), Adriana (a.k.a. DR AdrianaPatti), Matt (a.k.a. DR MattH), Jon (a.k.a. DR jhvw), Jeanne (a.k.a. DR Jeane) - I hope I didn't forget anyone(!).

...And continuing to meet up with - and Enable - the many DRs who live here in New York City and paid a visit to New York City this year.

And I hope to be able to put a real face to the avatars and screennames of the DRs I have yet to meet in person in 2008!

You didn't mention your time at the reservoir, or is that covered under the sentence, Continuing my relationship with various casting agents and musical directors/conductors...?

I don't recall if DR George posted his reaction.

I'm only about half way through the German cast recording of Wicked, but so far, with a few caveats, I think this is a better sung, better sounding recording than the original OBC!  The music director is the same as for the OBC, so tempi-wise, it's almost a carbon copy of the original.     But to be clear:  the score IS sung in German!

I assume the score is also played in German.  Otherwise, I guess you wouldn't know what you were listening to.

You know, I don't think I've seen that episode (which has Howdy Doody in it) since it first aired.  I've seen the poker one a lot - are they on the same DVD - I wonder if I have it?

Happy New Year all!

I had to work today and just got home a little while ago.  We got off a bit early but I had to drop by the tire repair place.

I’ve been noticing that my right rear tire has been a slow leaker or the past few weeks.  I would fill it with air and then two weeks later, it needed more.  The place I always used to go to isn’t open on the weekends any more and closes at five during the week making it very hard to get to.

I took a chance since I was off early to drop by and they were open.  It turned out I had picked up a screw and that was causing the leak.  I have no idea as to when or where that happened but its fixed now.  It didn’t cost much—just twelve dollars.

I don’t think I’ll be up for New Year.  I’ve been up since five and I rarely make it past nine as it is.

I honesty don’t really feel much like celebrating anyway.

Someone is already shooting off fireworks outside and the dogs are scared.  They're curled around my feet.  Poor babies.  They don't understand the meaning of all that noise.

Gee, my e-mail from Nancy Pelosi today says she needs me to donate $33,512.00 before midnight tonight so the Democrats can reach their goal for the year.

What does she think I am - a Republican?

Re Jay and Dan: From my understanding from both the gentlemen in question, no-one wrote to them and kvetched!

I'm still in contact with DR Jay at times and in more frequent contact with DiT (who still lurks).

François has certainly not left this time because of a "Tiff" etc.

But does anyone know what happened to Dan the Man?

My favourite thing that happened to me this year was getting back into theatre full force.  Though I actually returned to the boards in fall of 2006 in THE UNDERPANTS (my performance referred to as "impeccable").  February and March found me playing Orgon in TARTUFFE which I had also translated and adapted.  Both performance and writing were praised ("Charles Edward Pogue is nothing short of brilliant"..."A first-rate adaptation...Pogue's language sparkles with color and is ripe with clever crispness, making versatile leaps from theological discourse to the basest of double entendres...").  This fall I received accolades for my "robustly flawed" Claudius in HAMLET.  This January issue of AMERICAN THEATRE will feature an article about the production with a photo of me and Hamlet in the prayer scene.

Julieanne is currently in rehearsals for David Mamet's BOSTON MARRIAGE.  And I will be playing Ben Hecht in this spring's production of MOONLIGHT AND MAGNOLIAS, an account of David Sleznick locking Hecht and Victor Fleming in his office for a week while they re-wrote GONE WITH THE WIND.  My TARTUFFE will be done this summer in San Francisco by the African-American Shakespeare Company.

Tonight Julieanne and I will have our usual quiet New Year's Eve, just us and the pets snuggled together with a bottle of Procescco (which I prefer to champagne), watching all these award screeners of the latest fillms we've amassed.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ONE & ALL!

What a wonderful year, Mr Pogue!  Continued success.  Richly deserved.  Happy New Year.
