Morning, all.

Our computer died over the weekend. Luckily most everything important had been backed up but I was lazy about my recent BBC clips and unless I can get those off the hard drive they are gone. I don't know when we will have a computer at the house again. I'm hoping sometime in the next two weeks. I will order my new computer from Dell tomorrow or Wednesday and it should be here quickly.

I had decided to buy a new computer anyway and take our old one out to Long Island for Anthony's mother. Well, that's not gonna happen! That's the most disappointing thing.

We have been without the computer since late Saturday evening and we haven't "absolutely" needed it. I guess because I know I have my office system during the week it's not a big issue. We read books, we conversed, we watched a couple of movies, we went to Borders and browsed. All in all, a pleasant (if grey weather) day.

That's it for now. I probably won't be around much since I'm busy with work from when I was away and you definitely won't see me this evening. I'll be here when I can.

Later!

Oh, DR Ben - that's awful!  I'm so sorry.

The same thing happened to me some years back and even with the attempts by a data recovery service, I lost everything.

You'd think that would cause me to be more conscientious about backing up, but I am still remiss.

Oh yes, I am remiss.   :(

I like Penne pasta (you can have the vodka), but when I was living in Lodi, New Jersey my pasta of preference was Mostaccioli (which is penne without the ridges).

Ben, I am sorry to hear about your home computer; but, at least, we can still hear about the oatmeal bowl.

It appears that Iowa has been good for Barack Obama.  The latest polls show him now, with a 10 point lead over Clinton in New Hampshire.

DR JoseSPiano or some other foodie can fill us in, but Penne Vodka is usually in a pink sauce [I think because a little cream is added to the tomato sauce base?].  It can have bits of bacon or prosciutto as well.

Mostaccioli sounds good.  I wonder how many distinct varieties of pasta there really are?  Enough to boggle the mind, at any rate...

One of the most surprising thing for me when I moved to Lodi was the fact that one entire supermarket aisle was devoted to nothing but varieties of pasta.  I had never seen that many different kinds in my life.

It's been about a year since I had to replace my computer, DR BEN.  The place where I took it ask me if there was anything on the hard drive I wanted - not SOFTWARE - and I said no....of course a few days later, I remember there were some things.....but they are now gone gone gone.

I like chicken al fredo!

I also like a bed of spaghetti with mushroom sauce and a breast of chicken.

And of course - regular glop!

DR FJL - I will sit on my hands, if I have to, to allow you your moment in the sun.

Otherwise, I would be The Usurper!
