DR MATTH re: CHUCK

SPOILERS I guess (even though i still have not watched the 10pm show yet).

The reason i thought the 2 episodes were connected was because in episode 1 Chuck's sister and her boyfriend are having problems. And in the info for episode 2 it implies that he proposes to her.

I just assumed that the fight, and the make-up and all that had something to do with what happens in the 10pm show.

I forgot to mention that last night was the premiere of TRADING SPACES (which i did not watch yet). Although i think it repeats during the morning today.

I'm not sure if anyone answered this, but it was mentioned that DR Edisaurus' work would be on display during MISS AMERICA.  There were some ads for TRADING SPACES. But also the one i she mentioned (sorry i can't remember the name of the show exactly, the one with the guy making people thin).

I thought the promo looked great. And it actually made me want to check the show out!

OK - Well, I need to finish getting myself together here, and head out to meet up with DRs elmore and edisaurus and her ever-lovin' Greg.  -And then I have another get-together with my friend, Paul, who's in town this weekend from Florida.  And then it looks like I may be a show or two today... We shall see.

Laters...

And watching MISS AMERICA last night (SPOILERS), i realized why i dislike the show.

It's not about just creating a new modern image.

The actual show sucks.

I disliked the host (Mark Steinas (sp?) from ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT) (you need to have a good host).

But i also felt like i knew nothing about the girls (if i hadn't watched MISS AMERICA REALITY i would have known zero).

Simply having swimsuits (which i don't really like), evening gowns (which i love), and talent is not enough.  There was one interview question right at the end (but they had girls raise their hand if they wanted to answer (i'm not joking)).

They need to show a lot more of the girls. More questions. More discussions. More issues.

To me it seemed like the girl who won simply looked great in her dress. And answered her question reasonably well.

Interestingly enough (and this is a SPOILER for the MISS AMERICA REALITY show in case anyone watched).

There were 3 winners on MISS AMERICA REALITY. ANd of those three, 2 of them (Miss Washington and Miss Indiana) were first and second runner-up in the actual MISS AMERICA. I thought that was very interesting.

DR Jennifer - I did sort of watch "Trading Spaces" last night, and I think I need to watch it again when I'm not so distracted by cookies baking in the oven.  But what I saw was certainly interesting.

Sunday morning greetings!  Sorry to be E & T last night - I left work early, came home to dress up a bit, and accompanied DH Richard to the University Club in Cincinnati.  The occasion was the annual meeting of the Anglican church we've been attending.  It was originally scheduled to be a covered dish lunch after church today, but one of the couples in the congregation offered to host the dinner last night.  It was lovely and the meeting was productive.  The meal was outstanding - salad, prime rib (I'd requested the end cut and got it), asparagus, fancy mashed potatoes, and pineapple sherbet and macaroons for dessert.

As it's my one-day weekend, I've been excused from church and am having a leisurely morning.

The contestant who sang "Over the Rainbow" won, didn't she? (At least, I thought that's what I read in the newspaper this morning.)

I have THE JEWISH AMERICANS to finish this afternoon, and then, depending on time, I'll watch SHREK THE THIRD just for fun. Might be the last "just for fun" DVD I get to watch for a couple of weeks.

TV Reminders:

The Screen Actors Guild Awards come on tonight from 8-10.

The Men's Figure Skating finals air from 7-9.

I plan to watch the skating, start the recording of the SAG Awards at 8, and at 9, start watching SAG and see if I can't catch up to it before it ends at 10.

Yes, she did, DR Matt H, and it's quite the story here in SW Ohio because she's a student at the University of Cincinnati:

RE: BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING.

I've always thought the first 2/3 of BUNNY LAKE made it among the best mysteries ever made. The last third has always been a let-down for me. Seems protracted and talky and the suspense kind of oozes out of it.

Got to get laundry gathered up and ready for washing. Then, I'll think about what's for lunch.

The Congressman said his farewells towards the end of his retirement party, and the gathering of friends and associates followed by singing "SOLON, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good bye!"
