Apparently my sister went into labor yesterday morning about 7 or 8AM pacific time. They went to the hospital last night around 10 but were told to come back when the contractions were closer together. She was back in the hospital this morning around 5:30 and then had about 14 more hours of labor. Eek!!

I just received an email from Amy Kotsonis,Assistant Conductor of The Young People's Chorus of New York City about the "honor" choir that the Vixter is takingpartin this Saturday

It said, in part:

"The young Women’s and Men’s Honor Choruses  will collaborate with composer Tom Cabaniss and guest choirs – the Newark Boys Chorus, “Hearsay,”an a cappella group from Cornell University, and “Mass Transit,” an a cappella group from NYU.  We will also have guest artists the InterSchool Orchestra of New York City Symphonic Band performing with the choruses.

At the end of the day, all participants will celebrate their accomplishments in a performance at 7:30 PM at the Church of St. Paul located at 113 E. 117th Street between Park and Lexington Avenue."

Family and friends are encouraged to join us for this concert and donations will be taken at the door. The doors open at 7:15 PM, concert 7:30 PM -9:30 PM.

I wonder if any of our NYC DR's are familar with any of the people or groups mentioned

If all gay choir-members were removed, a great silence would fill Sunday morning in America.

Ain't THAT the truth!   :P

It's one of my favorite songs too. I've loved it ever since my brother bought the Kodachrome album back in the 70s. I also had the Starland Vocal Band album too

Their version of Paul Simon's American Tune is one of my favorite songs

Love, love, love their arrangement and performance of this!  :D

Not Starland Vocal Band but a lovely rendition by the original artists

It was actually recorded on Paul Simon's solo album...this is the only time I think I've heard Art Garfunkle sing it

Technically Zoey is my 6th niece/nephew. I have 3 half-sibs from my dad's first marriage. But I was about 10 when the first of those 5 showed up on the scene- the oldest of them is completing his first year in the armed forces. Not that I don't love my nieces and nephews, but this is just a little more special. :)

I was wondering if DR FJL was the author of some of those "discarded Hallmark greetings" that DR Vixmom posted last night?

Muse Margaret like my cuts, changes, and revisions and now I feel much better.  I worked on them almost the entire day, then finally wrote six pages of new stuff, which I'll have to look at later to see if I like or not.  If I do, I finish this chapter tomorrow and then it's the final three chapters.

DR TCB - my heart really goes out to you.  I continue to hold you up in my thoughts and prayers.  I don't  know what any of us can do, but if you can think of anything, I hope that you won't hesitate to ask us and/or let us know.

The Vixter is very excited about this book she wants to know when she can get her copy!! ( I told her to let you finish writing it first)

I would make you look at small things, td, like bugs and birds and flowers and patterns in the mud.
