I am now all prepared for the Hollywood Collector's Show - I'm only bringing the Kritzer books (two copies each), How To Write A Dirty Book, and MAHH - I'm completely out of Rewind, and I don't feel like lugging Writer's Block, although I'll stick one or two copies in the car, just in case.  Also bringing Brain and New Guy In Town CDs, thinking about bringing a few Deceit DVDs, Nudie and Naked Space DVDs, new and older photos and I think that's about it.

I may have a few more LPs for sale - I've been going through the garage.  I'm still unable to find one pile of them - as soon as I do, then I'll do a little listing right here at haineshisway.com

Whatever happened to our DR MBarnum review of LI'L ABNER? Did he leave Miss Laurie Mitchell and run off with one of the bodybuilders?

Bruce, I hope you sell loads of books at the show.  Do you ever read bits from them at a show?

ASK BK

Why are the there no subtitles for the song lyrics for the DVD release of Hello, Dolly! but there are subtitles for the dialogue. Can it be a copywright issue?

What about BURN NOTICE?

These are my two favorite shows.

It's February 14th here.  Until the last few decades "Valentines" wer enot part of Australian culture at all.  My knowledge of cards etc was from "Peanuts".

Australia switched to decimal currencey on February 14th 1966. (I don't it will catch on though)

February 13th 2008 will be an important day in the history of this country.  I wonder if there was any press mention in North America of the significance of the day.

Tomovoz, are you referring to the apology to the Aborigines?  I've been reading the headlines all day.

Good Evening!

Well, my foodie-friend, Michael, and I ended up at Dean's - in DR elmore's neck of the woods - for dinner.  I was in the mood for Italian, and even though I'm a fan of Dean's Square Pie, I really wanted pasta.  So, I got their Buccatini and Meatballs - I was just in the mood for something basic.  It was very good.  Michael got their Penne Amatriciana, but got it with Fettucini instead of Penne.  We both enjoyed our meals.

Afterwards, since we were in the 'hood, I walked Michael over to Edgar's Cafe where we drooled and dreamed over their dessert case.  Strangely enough, we both resisted the various temptations - although, that Pumpkin Bourbon Mousse Pie looked reallllllly good.  Well, then, again since we were in the 'hood, I walked Michael over to Cafe Lalo.

My last few visits to Cafe Lalo had been disappointing and underwhelming, but being the Good Enabler that I am, I felt I had to show Michael the place.  Well... When we walked in, I could tell they had brightened up the lighting, spiffed up the display cases, and the vibe seemed a bit friendlier and less aloof... I decided to take a chance, so I ordered a few spumenti and quarsmali... As did Michael.

As we walked out up Broadway, we both started to sample our cookies, and, surprise of surprises, they were delicious.  They were well-made and very fresh too.  Totally yummy.  I turned to Michael and said...

Well, that was Cafe Lalo.

-"Well, that was a mistake."

;D

*And, yes, we both walked back up Broadway to 116th before Michael headed back to his place, and I headed home.  -A nice 30 block walk from Cafe Lalo.

-And it really is quite a nice night out right now.  Yes, it's cold, but it's not frigid, and both the rain and wind died down.  And after cooping myself up in the apartment all day, the walk felt really good too.

So why do you think that the lyrics are not shown?
