(((((Elmore)))))

I know how you feel. I still get sad on the anniversary of my mom's and dad's passings.

Today I need to shop for some curtains. The new windows go in next week, and we need to replace the curtains in a couple of the rooms.

Well, today's auditions are being held in three session, three short sessions, so I'm going to bring my laptop with me since it looks like I'll have plenty o' time to surf the World Wide Web while I'm down there today, so...

Good morning!

It's bright but very cloudy out. Doesn't look like rain today, but they are forecasting that for the weekend. Still, I can get my errands done and it shouldn't be very cold.

I didn't get nearly enough sleep. I stayed up too late writing. Ah, well, one of the downsides of the job. I did stop at a certain point and picked back up this morning. Sometimes, though, one needs to get his thoughts down then no matter what the hour.

Media:

CD:  an unreleased promo copy of Claudine Longet:  Treasures.  We just listened to her Top 40 rendition of "Rosemary's Baby."  Not (the Top 40 part).

DVD:  finally made it through my mammoth reviewing project of the 14 DVD History Channel war set.  Oy.   In spare time, Betsy and I watched "Once," which, while perfectly enjoyable, was not the second coming for us that several people had told us it would be.  Glen Hansard (or whatever his name is) looks like the Celtic cousin of that guy on Mythbusters.  :)

JR, the Claudine CD contains her unreleased-to-LP single of the Dark Shadows Theme (with narration!).  Of course, Andy recorded it, too.

My sentiments exactly. I'm astonished every week how these writers keep things going, introducing new mysteries, keep the surprises coming.

Why do my eyes/mind keep reading today's topic title as THE LUBOVITCH TOUCH?   ::)

Do you mean Lubavitch?  Betsy's brother and family go to a Chabad Lubavitcher shul outside of Milwaukie, Wisconsin, and while I must say that kind of ultra-orthodoxy is completely foreign to me, they are some of the coolest people I've ever met and they were so remarkably loving and accepting of my autistic nephew who made his Bar Mitzvah there.

Did you, like Betsy and I did, gasp out loud at the "surprise" toward the end with Sayyid and his lover?  We had already guessed Sayyid's motives/goal, but hers blew us away!

No, as I mentioned (vaguely) last night, her surprise I anticipated and so wasn't blown away (things were going just too smoothly). The aftermath, however, was very exciting.

...And due to a change in schedule, it looks like I'll be busier today than expected.  But, in the long run - well short run - it balances out yesterday's unexpectedly short day.

The A&M Board says there were only 10 (ten!) of these promo CDs of Claudine issued, that the project was pulled after that.  Wow.  I got it on eBay for $9.99 from a Russian seller, believe it or don't.  It's all of her unreleased to LP singles, some nice stuff, including stuff I think she's singing in Japanese.  I'm not a big fan of her voice, but most of her arrangements were by Nick DeCaro, whom I've always really liked.
