Mess in Manhattan:

A fifteen story crane fell on a 5 story building at 51st and 2nd and took the whole building down!

Definite fatalities

As for Buz & Ned's Real Barbecue...

I'm currently watching Food Network, and Bobby Flay's "Throwdown" is currently on, and his challenger today is Buz of Buz & Ned's Real Barbecue in Richmond, VA - my old stomping grounds.  I've been seeing lots of glimpses of some my favorite places - Buz & Ned's included - as well as the beautiful campus of the University of Richmond.  Awww...  I'm getting a little "former-homesick". ;)

Back from a really fun blocking rehearsal - we did a whole lot in three hours - the entire Here On Earth scene (about six or seven pages), the entire Rod and Donna first scene, including roughing out Good Girl/Bad Girl, the first half of The World of Tomorrow scene up to the point where General Mills enters, all of the Narrator's stuff for the opening scene and his solo parts in the opening number, and all of the Independence Day scene.   Whew!

I love Dietrich in WITNESS and DESTRY; also in the BLUE ANGEL, tho you wouldn't know it was the same person; she was so brave in entertaining the troops in WWII-and as soon as she could she had somebody get her to Russian occupied Berlin, which was where her mother was trapped.......I remember that series with Annette; Roberta Shore was so MEAN to her, just cause Annette was poor.Dont jump/jump to conclusions/It's bound to bring on contusions.......Speaking of contusions, I think Sen Obama(whom I like) has more to worry about from the Clintons than from Fox news......Since I wont be posting for a week, Happy St Paddys day..I'm off to buy the corned beef(tho it's not like you used to be able to get in New England.

I came home to a very heartening e-mail regarding the good news.  While I'm not quite ready to say everything is a go, I will say that we're very close - a couple of things have to happen this week and then, if those things are positive, then I'll be ready to make the announcement.

No, you did indeed hear it!  And I'm glad you told us.  I've had HBO on, so no one ever cuts in with a Manhattan news item. Four fatalities. Here's the CNN link:

It has been raining for the better part of three hours. We need this rain so badly, but I honestly thought my house was going to wash away at one point.

Is there some type of ceremony / plaque / cash award given, or is this one of those things where I have to make do with the "honor" of having reached this milestone?  ;D

I watched the 1940 version of THE BLUE BIRD (upconverted where it looked quite beautiful) while I cooked and ate lunch. A grand time was had by all (meaning me).

Sadly, no.  Just the congrats.

You can make your own plaque, if you like. :D

Next, I put in NORTH BY NORTHWEST (also upconverted and being watched for the first time on the "new" set. Looks nice, but I can see why Warners has said there is still work to do on it before they can release it on high definition.

I got no review discs in the mail, so I'm free to watch what I please this weekend. Tonight will be the HD-DVD of 12 MONKEYS.

Tomorrow, WHITE SQUALL will be one film I'll watch. I also would like to watch THE GOOD SHEPHERD this weekend.

I'm currently watching NY1, and the images are truly horrifying.  I would have to say that I would not be surprised if Mayor Bloomberg calls for a construction stoppage for a period of time in order to have each and every site inspected.  There have been way too many major and minor construction site accidents over the past few months here in New York City.

Well, I need to get going.  I have to take a shower, dress, get a couple of things that I left at work, go to my sister's, eat, then go to the show tonight.

Have a good day, all!

I gather it is di rigeur for us Full Members to talk about what TV shows and movies we're watching from moment to moment.... I am now five episodes deep into the hilarious Flight of the Conchords. Very amusing stuff.

You can make your own plaque, if you like.

My dentist advises me otherwise.

Yes, that looks like the copy from the most recent release - the Masterpiece Collection.

OK, I have no writing to do and nothing to clean (Saturday is my day off from that), so I'm heading down now to finish NORTH BY NORTHWEST, watch 12 MONKEYS in HD-DVD, and then catch TORCHWOOD off the DVR.
