And one for Mahler.

Numerous meaningless posts being made just to get one's post totals up (and you know who you are).

A fill in blank with something oblique reference.

DR Sandra's pictures - not a running gag.  How can anything so frequently lovely be considered a gag?

Her phrase "Today I went for a walk, and this is what I saw" is a running gag (only slower than an actual run).

Good morning, all! I'm finally seeing my barber this morning before heading down to Toyland, where I shall wear out the photocopier on Act Two of LADY OF THE SLIPPER. I also need to call Miles Kreuger about this forthcoming biography of Victor Herbert. After that, a short trek to the NYPL. I think that's my day.

Yesterday afternoon, I got caught up in beaurocratic red tape from the Miami University accounts payable department, and I need to resolve that today as well. I have sent them everything Fedex can provide for the shipment to Ohio and they claim it's not what they need. Unfortunately, there's nothing else I can get from Fedex to make them, so I have no idea what the hell they're looking for!

Oy!

Perhaps I will have my new glasses tomorrow....or maybe not until Monday.  Time will tell.

UNDERPANTS!

And the food/movie titles are always fun.

And I certainly enjoy HHW when someone mentions THE MUSIC MAN and everyone starts posting his/her favorite quotes from this wonderful show.

You watch your phraseology!  Thanks for the buggy ride!  I couldn't be any plainer if I was a Quaker on Sunday.

Work today. Oh well.

Thanks, DR JOSE.  Playbills are always appreciated out in the hinterlands.  But you can just start a stack and send them as a group if you prefer.

Another thing that irks me: the 3-6 shots of Allison every episode showing her waking up from a dream with a gasp and sitting bolt upright. It's beyond a cliche at this point.

Miss Arquette wanted me to tell you that she thinks of that as a running gag.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up...  And I almost did not get up on time-ish this morning.  I woke up at 6:00, looked at the clock, then decided to stay in bed until my alarm went off.  Well, I heard the radio turn on at 7:00... listened to whatever was playing... then next thing I knew it was quiet.  And that it was also 7:45.  Of course, the ringer on my cellphone - a.k.a. my alarm clock - was still turned to "silent" after my sojourn to the theatre last night.  In any case...  I'm up.

DR FJL - re: the humor in DRS and CB - Gotcha.  Strangely(?) enough, I thought the humor in CB needed to be a bit cruder and ruder - much closer to  the original movie - where a lot of it was actually just "real" - at least John Waters' version of Baltimore reality.  DRS's bad taste humor was, at least, imho, smartly done, and had an edge to it.  As for CB, a lot of seemed to go for the "let's shock them" laughs; I actually caught myself groaning out loud a few times.  And book-wise, well... As they entered the final face-off (hope that's not a spoiler), I actually said, "Oh, no," out loud too. Spoo!

However, there is some great talent on that stage.  I loved the girl who played Lenora, Alli Mauzey.  And Christopher J. Hanke is just still so cute, cute, cute!  (And not in a stupid-ass way.)
