For those of us you who like this sort of thing:

Unforgettable Nudes Scenes In 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall'
In the latest exhibition of taboo busting, Jason Segel, the star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, will be seen totally naked in one scene in which his character is rejected by his girlfriend, played by Kristin Bell. Reporting on the scene, today's (Wednesday) Los Angeles Times commented that the amount of full-frontal male nudity in the scene is "unprecedented" and that when the movie was screened at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, TX last month, "every time Segel was shown au naturel, the totality of his package nearly brought the house down with laughter." The movie is due to open on Friday.

Just had to share. :D

Thanks.  I can't wait for the new season of "Stargate:Atlantis" to begin!

I bet.  Do you know when that is?  I can't find anything.

Gee, if I didn't already have low self-esteem, a theater full of people laughing at my package would certainly do it.

Liberry Week!

I am having somewhat of a problem with my Local Public Liberry.

Since they updated and renovated the website, I have been unable to log onto Heritage Quest to continue my research.  My sister cannot log on either.  Emails to the liberry receive NO response.  A telephone call gives us information and suggestions that are useless.
...

DR JRand - are you going to Heritage Quest by using a previously-set favorite or bookmark?  You might have to enter the liberry website newly into your address bar, since the upgrade.

Used copies of Meredith Willson's book, "But He Doesn't Know the Territory," START at $175.00 on the web.  But it has been suggested that you can Inter-Library Loan a copy from your local public library for free!  :D

Here's a closer look:

As a child Lawford severely injured his arm and hand, in his words, "attempting to run through a glass door.". He never regained full use of them.

I couldn’t find anything about a claw hand.

But is that bookmarked on your computer?  If so, try starting over - like you've never been to the liberry site before.

He couldn't fully extend the all of his fingers on his right hand, my guess is that candid photos show it more than film stills or lobby cards - just watch him in a movie.  He is always carrying something in his right hand or keeps it out of frame.

I didn't know what else to call it....obviously not a claw hand like Cornel Wilde had in THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH, but certainly something he worked to conceal....but also obviously not a handicap to his career.

Watch for it next time you see him in a movie.

What is wrong with Gene Wilder?

He had undergone treatment for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1999 and even though I think it is in remission, you can tell that the battle took ia lot out of him.

The beginning of the show had him walking around a huge estate, arm and arm with Alec Baldwin, but it seemed like Baldwin was steadying him. They needed the coverage for Baldwin's VO explaining why he was interviewing Wilder, one of his favorite actors (and one of mine!).

I had read most of these stories in his autobiography, but there was still enough new information to make it very enjoyable and worth watching, even if I did have to stay up until 2AM!

Good Evening!

I'm back from Red Bank.  It turned out we were performing in and for a nursing home, which was sort of cool.  We were performing under the auspices of Opera New Jersey - which will be one of my employers this summer - and were brought in as part of their "Encore" series.  The residents were a very appreciative audience, and even sang along with some of the tunes they knew from time to time - which was very cute and endearing.  And they even requested right after we were done to have us come back sometime sooner rather than later.  And the baby grand piano I played was pretty decent too.  It also turned out that some of the residents had been performers - actors and musicians - when they were younger, and they shared some of their stories with us.  And, of course, those with grand-daughters had to ask if either of us was single. ;)

Still no USAHD?

Watch out for FOODHD - they have different programmimg than FOODTV (same folks, different shows).

Do you get a PBS HD channel?

der Brucer

Some other HD channels will also show different programming from time to time if the show was not filmed in HD - that's what happens on FoodTV, at least.

I wonder if I could arrange a put-in rehearsal with Mario?

Well, I have to go to the theatre tomorrow night, and I could put a request in with the Equity deputy and stage manager if you like.

I remember that!  Was that one of the first examples of demonstrations of this ilk?

The elderly lady with whom I attended said to one of the picketers:
"And I'd like to invite you to come to MY church, anytime!"   :)

Nope. They protested MONTY PYTHON'S LIFE OF BRIAN just as much. I had to cross picket lines to see both of the films mentioned.
