Hindemith had a few bumps today. The kid I'm accompanying had been warming up in another room and left his music in that room, so when he got to the room we performed in, he was completely flustered, because they're on a strict timing schedule. He had to run halfway across a huge building, fetch his music, and run back, getting to the performance room just as the timer started the 10 minutes. The good news is, the piece is far less than 10 minutes, but I could tell Peter's nerves were shot already and his intonation was pretty poor at times.
I was completely blown away (no pun intended) by the kid who went on before. I had never heard the piece before but had a strong suspicion it was British and either by Vaughan Williams or someone of his ilk. It turned out to be by Gordon Jacob, so I feel proud of my identifying skills.

I can't seem to find a recording anywhere, strangely.
