I have been purchasing on the cheap side, a few magazine lots from 1945-47 since I am directing ALL MY SONS and like to look at contemporary information - and I like to show pictures of the time to my cast....

Several of the advertisements from these magazines - American Home, which I was not familiar with, but is very interesting ... talk about the new Zenith Cobra Tone Arm with Radionic sound reproduction....

The Cobra Tone arm is very distinctive, but I can't quite tell what Radionic sound reproduction is.  It seems to have something to do with an amplifier IN the tone arm....very interesting.....

Monday morning greetings!  I had coffee this morning with someone who's trying to get a reading initiative going in our town, then went shopping for ingredients for a pot roast dinner.  Now, I'm home for the rest of my day off.

I think we had that one on page 1.

I was afraid of that, but not scared enough to search, obviously.

When I was a kid, a local TV show featured a rabbit with a great theme song:

Hippity-Hop

Heigh-ho Hippity-Hop

[I don't remember the middle]

Come along and Flippity-Flop
With Hippity-Hop

HURD HATFIELD

Back in my relative youth I had a shared home where one of the roommates was a slightly daffy lady.  I was watching Murder, She Wrote one night and Annie traipsed through the living room, saw the guest star and exclaimed, as if she had just seen the Second Coming, "Ooooooh, Hurd Hatfield!"  It still makes me laugh.
