I thought it was against natural law to mount animals, even in the privacy of your own home.

Local statutes may apply.  ;D

I am afraid that I cannot be at the Cilla's in NYC fest as tomorrow we are conducting The Vixter is 15 fest with her friends and a full day of frivolity is planned

wish  we could be there... have an adult beverage for me!

Speaking of animals, last weekend I had a Der B and SWW moment. I had cut the grass and left the gate open in the backyard. I went outside to call Elmore, and saw a big deer in the backyard! I immediately hung up on Elmore and called the boys. They got to see it, too, but it trotted off before I could get a picture. (I might have scared it off running to get the camera.)

That was the most exciting thing that has happened since we've been here!

The "boys" refers to my DH and our DF John, the Merchant-Ivory editor from NY. He has been passing through town for the last few weeks and usually spends at least one night here whenever he's in Atlanta. So it's been nice to see so much of him.

He did kind of commandeer my office and computer, though, which accounts for some of my truancy, plus I didn't want to be a rude hostess and spend too much time on the computer.

I think i've also mentioned that we have a snake at our house. We usually look for it but didn't see it last year.

This year, we have TWO snakes living in the tree outside my window. They both look smaller than the original, so I wonder if perhaps they are offspring.

I watched the last of the documentaries on THE FIRE WITHIN DVD. It's a discussion of how the original book compared to the movie, and its effect on a young French actor who saw the movie on TV when he was 15.

THE CLOSER just wrapped their first week of shooting, so I should have dailies on Monday. The script is pretty good. The guest star we had previously discussed has a very big role in this episode!

Next, I watched last night's CSI. A kind of comedy outing for them. Yes, there were murders to be investigated, but a lot of jokes were made about people who turn up with green blood, there's an incineration that seems to be important and then that case (which ended up in a suit against the county) is left in the dust to continue investigating another crime.

CSI is definitely not the show it was three or more years ago.

Next came tonight's GHOST WHISPERER. Not one of my favorite episodes. What on earth has Nikki Cox done to her lips? Well, I know what she's done, and she resembles nothing human now.

But I just didn't get quite the zing out of the show that I usually get.

MOONLIGHT was enjoyable, however.

I enjoyed Beth helping Mick out for a change. The two young paparazzi vampires were funny.

TWILIGHT, by William Gay, has been getting some good buzz around here as the next great Southern gothic novel. Stephen King listed it as his "book of the year". It was inspired by actual events that took place here in Georgia a few years ago.

I watched the end of THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN on the USA network.

The last musical number was longer than I remembered it in the theatre or the version I've seen on cable. Wonder what the deal is with that?

I'm working on a documentary right now about a Southern author named Julia Peterkin. She was one of the first women to win a Pulitzer, and she led a very interesting life!
