This morning, I took my car to the dealer for servicing.  I hadn't had work done in...too long ::) but now it's all good. :) I knew it was going to cost a lot, but that was one of the things I needed to spend my income tax refund on.  Now my car is all set to go to Issaquah with a short stop in Tacoma to pick up TCB, so that we can meet FJL and Skip and see The Last Starfighter!! ;D

Yep. I'm just wondering how "live" they're going to make it appear.

I thought it looked pretty live, with the audience and all. I figured it was taped, but wondered about it for a minute

DR Cillaliz - have you recovered from your trip to NYC?  Ready to plan another?  How 'bout August 27-September 1?

And now I'm leaving work.  I have a $35 Costco gift card that I got for my birthday that I want to spend and a 25% off coupon from Borders that I want to use and a coupon for a free birthday burger from Red Robin.  I also my go to Applebee's and get a little something, just so I can get their coupon (good for a year!) for a free dessert or appetizer. :D

It seemed like a good number of those segments were taped before tonight's "live" broadcast.  My roommate and I had fun spotting the every changing audience members.  ;)

OH!  I meant to post this a while back...

I know some DRs were wondering why the following was not on DVD, but it happened to be reissued on DVD a few months ago by BBC Video:

Starting to recover. I slept REALLY hard last night and woke up wondering where I was. I had a busy day at work, so I'm back in the swing quicker than I expected.  I'm going to Chicago August 13-15 for the 8th Circuit Judicial Conference. I'm on a committee so the court is reimbursing me for it.  Justice Alito will be there, that could be interesting.  I do want to go to NYC in the fall. Not sure when. I may look at the end of August, I'll have to think about it

You could have purchased it for 99 cents from a certain eBay seller last week, as a matter of fact.  ;)

Thanks for the comments--emotionally it's really no big deal for me.  I hadn't seen Chris for decades, literally, and had only heard of her addiction problems second-hand.  It's just sad because when we were sweethearts she was one of the smartest, sweetest girls I knew and it just kind of bums me out to think of all that wasted potential.  I'm really surprised she got hooked on the "hard stuff," for want of a better term.  Like a lot of teens of the 70s, she was not shy about recreatoinal drug use, but it was never anything horrible, relatively speaking.

I did have a wonderful trip. It was way too short, but things are so crazily busy back here at the office that I realize I was right not to be gone any longer

Saturday was the Vixter's birthday extravaganza

We picked up 3 of her girlfriends and went to the local minature golf course where they golfed and I sat inside and waited

then we went to Dave & Busters where we got their Eat & Play special... whichi is actually quite a good deal for $23.99 you get a choice of 11 entrees , nice big meals, and a $20 game card... the girls ate and then went and used their cards and then split mine between the 4 of them... they won lots of tickets which they traded in for suprisingly nice gifts

then we were off to the bowling alley for a game of bowling a dn tehn back to the house to open gifts and watch "Bride & Preduice"

(MBarnum would be proud) finally cake and the delivery of the girls back to their respective homes

The Sherlock regimen sounds tiring for his owners!!!

Not too bad.  The most difficult part is not taking him hiking or for walks.

Thanks DR George.
