I really don't want to go to this memorial thing - I loathe these sorts of evenings because everyone wants to have their five minutes and it ends up being three hours of the same thing over and over.

The best way to handle that is to have prepared remarks by about three people.  Everyone else's reminiscinces are better left to be conveyed verbally to the family during the reception, or better yet in letters to the family after the fact.  But this never happens.

Brian "The Boz" Bosworth was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks for the highest rookie contact (at that time) in NFL history.  He only played for two seasons.  He is also appeared in a couple of forgetable motion pictures.

Did anybody say Bobby Bonds or Barry Bonds (baseball).

Bob Barker (gameshow host).

Or Brett Butler (actress).

I rushed home from dinner last night. It was hard to catch up. it seemed like there were hardly any commercials. Anyhow i must say i was completely shocked by the vote. Obviousy we don't know until the finale if there will be F2 or F3. And we don't know who will win immunities. But it was not surprising that natalie was booted. And i expected parv and amanda to take each other.
But i cannot believe parvati won. My local paper had her as a million to 1.  After realizing it was F2 and not F3 (i sort of think amanda would have won if it had been F3) i realized alexis and nat would vote for parv. But i was shocked at erik's attitude towards amanda. And eliza too. She was so bitchy.
Was anyone else as annoyed as me that we did not find out who was the other vote for amanda. And i would have liked to know what the vote would have been if amanda had chosen cirie. Usually we find that stuff out. So i was annoyed at jeff probst.

I'm not sure how i felt about the finale. Some of it was really good. But the final scene was not the best.
I liked the wedding. And i was okay with the adoption.  And i actually thought them finding out their father had another child was quite a shock. But that should have been the final scene, not rebecca and justin.  And while the idea of them as a couple is growing on me. I think it's too soon to watch them kiss. I still think of them as brother and sister!  Btw, i also liked kevin's flashbacks and how it tied into the story. And kevein going to see scotty's parents. But there is no way that woman could have been his mother. How old is scotty supposed to be??

I was reading the televisionwithoutpity board and some people thought ozzy was being petty by being mad at parvati for outsmarting him. I totally disagree. I don't know how close they were before this season. But it soundsl ike they were friends.  If i went on Survivor with one of my friends i would expect them to be loyal to me.  And i don't think i would forgive them if they screwed me over just so they could win money.  I get why he was mad.  He even said on the reunion show that was the only reason he did not use the idol. Because parv had been his good friend before the show and he felt he could trust her.
Oh and btw (ozzy is my fav) ozzy and amanda are the cutest couple ever!

DR Ron, a couple of corrections about your wonderful summary of DEEP IN MY HEART.

It's Jose Ferrer, not Mel Ferrer, who stars as Romberg.

The film was not filmed in Cinemascope. It is in a wider frame than the old Academy ratio, but it is most definitely not Cinemascope.

I spent all afternoon watching JAG episodes. I finished the one I had started last night. Terry O'Quinn (Locke on LOST) was the guest star and he was acquitted.

In the episode I didn't quite finish before coming upstairs, William Katt was a ship captain who rammed into a Turkish ship during a war games exercise (not his fault but he's falling on his sword).

I'll finish it when I go back down.

The thesis presentations went great on Friday and Saturday -- so a weight has been lifted. Both audiences were raving about the theatre-in-the-round, especially the way we blocked it, for Parched, my adaptation of Thirst....

Remember when DRs Cillaliz, Danise, Jane, and I had makeovers from her staff at Saks Fifth Avenue?

And we all looked so shiny in the "after" photo taken.  ;D

TV Reminders:

BONES!

HOUSE! (first of the two-part season finale episode)

MEDIUM (season finale)

The season was so short :(

I hope I we are happier with MEDIUM this week.  Sometimes Alison is too irritating.

We also have those lovable, brilliant, nerds to watch in THE BIG BANG THEORY.

Crazy Man!  I was at the local Goodwill Store today, where I like to browse once a week or so for this and that...including books and Cd's and photographs....ANYWHO......there was a Circuit City Video Camera Tripod Box....that said it was the TRIPOD, and a camera carrying case.

Since I bought a USED SMALL FORMAT video camera earlier this year for about $30 on EBAY, I thought I would buy the tripod, since my "new" camera didn't fit well on my BIG VHS camera tripod...about 25 years old.

I pushed it around in my cart and put it back, then picked it back up....it was ONLY $5.99.

WELL....I got it home and inside the camera case was, you guessed it. a JVC GRAXM225 camera, battery pack, battery charger, and (most important) the instruction book, plus one blank tape.

All for $5.99!

Great price :)
You really wanted to add your name to the recent list of folks getting new electronic gadgets.  ;)
