Good morning!

Cool again this morning (though the day is supposed to be warmer in the afternoon). It's overcast in preparation of the rain we're supposed to have for the next three days starting tomorrow.

DR Ginny - methinks you need Hermione's "time-turner!"   :)

Boy, did I loathe GABLE AND LOMBARD. I didn't think either of the stars had real star quality (though they can both be very effective actors), and the screenplay had been written as if the writer had never even researched the lives of the two actors and the fact they had made a movie together long before they ever became a couple.

I didn't remember that Barry Sandler had written the film which saddens me. I would have expected better from him.

I should be able to finsh up with JAG this afternoon (three episodes left). Then, I hope to watch the new Criterion THE THIEF OF BAGDAD tonight and maybe some of the bonuses since TV for me doesn't start until 10.

Yesterday I got on Blu-ray (bought; not a review copy) BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOu"RE DEAD, Sidney Lumet's latest film. I've read so many wonderful things about the movie, and as soon as I get a spare moment, I'd like to watch this before the tons of other things in my stack of unwatched DVDs.

I actually don't see that happening before late next week, but we'll see.

I have six discs of the Roy Thinnes-THE INVADERS to watch before I can get to it, too.

Oops, that's right!  It was the hourglass that allowed her to be in two places at once.  I was getting it confused with Harry's invisibility cloak.

Given the amount of time you spend sitting, DR Matt H. - both for work and for pleasure - I sure hope you walked into a furniture store and said, "Show me the most comfortable recliner you've got!"   :)

MattH, I will be curious to know what you opinion is of THE INVADERS. I remember that airing in reruns when I was a kid...TWILIGHT ZONE, OUTER LIMITS, NIGHT GALLERY, ONE STEP BEYOND and THE INVADERS all were in reruns on the various TV stations...but of them all, THE INVADERS seemed very dull to me at that age (8 to 10 years old).

DR JoseP, I will be staying at the Whispering Woods Hotel which is actually located just outside of Memphis in Olive Branch, MS, which is where the festival is being held.

I actually have a sofa (which has recliners at both ends) and two other chairs (one recliner, one straight back) in my den theater which I alternate sitting on.

I was a teenager when it aired originally, and I wasn't in to this kind of show then though I did watch a few episodes. I likened it to a TV retread of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS at the time, but I'm eager to see it from the beginning now. This is the first season set (it was a midseason replacement, so there are only 17 episodes in the set plus a ton of bonus features.)

It is SO wonderful. I couldn't begin to count the times I've watched it at theaters, on TV broadcasts (SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES), and the DVD.

I was very sad last night. Even though kristi is my favorite dancer, i have been voting for marissa all these weeks.  I was really sad to see her go. I thought it would have been really neat if she had gotten to the finals.   That plus i have just not warmed up to cristian (and never really warmed up to cheryl). I think kristi has it in the bag. I think a lot of marissa's votes will go to her. I think there is a chance that jason could win. But i really think it will be kristi.

I like most scary movies - those that involve situations I feel far removed from my own life.

The Birds, on the other hand.....

I still find myself uneasy under the glare of a sea gull on a phone wire!

CRUISING, however, did terrify me when I realized how many of those situations I had indeed placed myself

DR SINGDAW - I will concur with DR MATTH - I think you might enjoy THE BIRDS.  It has some frightening moments, but it really is character driven with some terrific performances by Hedren, Taylor, Tandy, and Pleshette.

And of course co-star of You Know Who.....Mr Gregg Palmer!
