Well, you've read the notes, the notes were filled with metaphors they didn't even know about, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're looking for some mootaphors.

I finally did find a comment from someone who actually has seen both the MGM and the Criterion Thief of Bagdad and this comment reflects what I've seen of the screencaps of the Criterion, which looks sharp but with lifeless and brownish color.

"'Thanks very much for the review of Criterion's "Thief of Bagdad." I, too, own the MGM DVD, and compared to your screen captures of the Criterion, the MGM looks much more vibrant, like Technicolor looked in the forties, in the way of (albeit 1939) Wizard of Oz or Gone with the Wind. The Criterion in your captures looks much more muted, almost as if it was a colorized black and white image. In the MGM, the scene were June Duprez looks into the pool is a lovely shot, with fresh colors in her face and a vibrant lush background. The look of the Criterion disappoints me as looking rather drab."

TOD:

I have never seen a Robert Mitchum movie.  Perhaps I should start!

Even though I know who Robert Mitchum was, I think I have only see three movies that he was in.

River of No Return
The Night of the Hunter
The Big Sleep (remake)

and I am sure there were others where he was part of a large "all-star" cast but nothing comes to mind.

TOD:  Another vote for RIVER OF NO RETURN.  I will also add THE HUNTERS, a Korean War jet plane drama co starring Robert Wagner and Mai Britt.

Off to do some this and that.  Congratulations to DR MATTH on over 30,000 posts!

I forgot my question for MR BK yesterday!  Was your muse Margaret amused when her father Dave Willock played the father of a girl named MARGIE on television?

Looks like they're sticking with last year's tag line for the Tony ceremony.  At least I think this is recycled:

There's A Little Bit of Broadway in Everyone.

Gag!    :P

This day has been weird since midnight, so I'm finding it hard to say good morning today.  I slept poorly, and as a result, stayed in bed 90 minutes longer than I wished. When I opened the computer, it was dead. I turned off the modem for a couple of minutes and things seemed to load in okay but I lost all my bookmarks, which I hate.

While this was going on, I drew my bath water, which was dark brown this morning. Not a good omen. I emptied the tub and refilled it.  Still dark brown. Of course, at 8 am there's no one in my landlord's office to deal with the problem, and I cannot tell if the water in the kitchen is equally tainted - I'm sure it is - but I boiled my coffee water for 30 minutes before using it.

So, I'm feeling unwashed, disorganized, angry about the computer's bookmarks, and unsure of what to do next. I have a date with goddaughter Charlotte at 4 this afternoon to see a movie, and I need to go to Toyland for a bit.  So, this day can only look up, I hope, or the omens are really crap.

Thursday morning greetings!  I'm glad to be back at my desk today after being away all day yesterday.  I'm especially glad to be working only half a day today, due to a (non-emergency) doctor's appointment this afternoon.

Better day vibes to DR Elmore!

Adding insult to injury, I'm suddenly getting a lot of unsolicited phone calls lately. Just now it was a request for breast cancer funding. Has something happened I should be aware of?
