I'm up, I am getting ready for work, and I am trying to figure out how to put a new bandage on my wound,  The cats are not even helping, they are sleeping!

When I'm doing osme sort of delicate procedure, that's when my cats like to get involved the most!

One is knocking things off my desk as we speak...

Here is a 15 minute audio of the radio broadcast of the 1948 Tony Awards!

That's really cool! It's fun to hear everyone's voices (especially Basil Rathnone). It made me want to learn more about Antoinette Perry, too.

I don't know that I'll get much of a chance to post today.  Going to be another busy day at the orifice office.

Good morning, all! Friday in Middletown, and it's damp and rainy.  Jo is off to run errands and I'm doing a bit of Brain surgery till she returns. Then we are going antiquing for a bit. I don't have any plans for today beyond asome brain work and a dinner with friends.

I missed my cousin Sue and my Uncle Bob yesterday, so I need to make plans with her to drive out to see him. He's getting frail and I don't want him exerting himself.

I have nothing else to report but the following:[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]

Friday morning greetings!  The best thing about my information-waitressing day is that, when it's over, I'll go into a 4-day weekend.  Three of those 4 days will be filled with family and friends and, from what I heard on the radio, glorious weather.

TOD - CD(car) - audiobook, Elizabeth Berg's Dream While You're Feeling Blue, read by the author.  It's a story about 3 Chicago sisters during WWII - I'm not even through the second disc and already I've cried and laughed out loud.  Authors aren't always the best narrators, but Elizabeth does a beautiful job.  I've seen her in person a couple of times, including when she was on the book tour for this title.  She even dressed in '40s style and had big band music playing before and after her presentation.

In the absence of DR Arnold M Brockman, may I suggest "Try to Remember" as the song of the day?

DR Ben - congratulations on the new laptop!  Richard and I bought one couple of years ago, ostensibly for travel, but we use it at home a lot more than I expected.  You'll get used to the keyboard.

Help!  I'm being held captive having to work a whole hour - alone - at the computer services desk.  Don't these people have someplace else to be?

Good morning!

Loving these cool mornings so I can cool down the house before it heats up into the 80s. Another one of those days today.

Very disappointed to read in today's TV schedules: originally CBS was going to rerun a MOONLIGHT episode at 9 p.m., but apparently, they've taken it off the air and will now show two GHOST WHISPERER reruns back-to-back.

I guess MOONLIGHT is now gone forever from CBS. (I'm just waiting for a DVD set announcement.)

For anyone who is interested the 2 finalists from AMERICAN IDOL are supposed to be on LARRY KING tonight.

They were quite enjoyable on AMERICAN IDOL EXTRAS last night (i really enjoyed this show - it's the first year i've seen it).

I did get the kitchen floor mopped this morning, so I'm delighted to have that chore out of the way. Have my usual Friday errands to do in a little while.

I can never remember that word.

I did something so stupid on wednesday night that i forgot to write about.

I brought a ham over to my sister's house to cook in the oven for my niece. I have a baking pan that rests in a ruttan (sp?) basket.

Anyhow i was in such a rush that i put the basket in the oven! :(

Obviously we would have noticed right away. But we all went upstairs to change my niece's diaper. And when we came down 5 minutes later the smell was bad.

Well it was bad for me cause my eyes are so sensitive and were burning.

luckily it had only been 5 minutes. And she has an air purifier. So we opened the windows and turned on the oven fan. And the smell was completely gone in less than an hour.

But i was so mortified i did that!

Media:

DVD:  making my way through the massive (over 16 hours) Newport Music Festival Collection.  So far, my favorite has been the absolutely gorgeous Piano Sonata No. 1 by Nikolai Kapustin.   BK, if you haven't heard Kapustin's music, an amazing amalgam of jazz and classical, you will love, love, love it.

I also thought of BK when I heard a new CD by Chris Walden's Big Band yesterday--very Sebesky-esque.

I don't think I mentioned it yesterday, but I did skim through AS THE WORLD TURNS, and there were no Luke or Noah, but they will be on today's show along with Col. Crazy and Ammera.
