George - DR Julie produced the NYMF production of Last Starfighter, and she was asked to join us onstage for Friday night's talkback to give her insights from a producer's perspective on how the material people were seeing in the Issaquah workshop prsenetations would translate to the stage in a fully staged production.

Thanks for the memories of Mr. Connelly; I always enjoyed his work, esp on PEYTON PLACE, which was the first show I had seen him on.........FM = Francois Mauriac, one of my favorite French authors; One of his novels, Vipers'  Knot, I think I might have read in the original.......And speaking of French novelists and Frankie Muniz, MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE was one of my all time fave sitcoms; I liked as Mr Muniz got older he sometimetimes sounded like Frankie, sometimetimes like James Earl Jones, and sometimes like Frankie Muniz and James Earl Jones  "put togither".And speakining of MALCOM, I get to see Lois'(Jane Kazmareck)'s real life hubby Bradford Whitley in the Bway farce  BOEING BOING at the end of the month.

I had a big, big crush on Chris Connelly all through my life. I was deeply saddened when he died so young. I'll never forget him from PEYTON PLACE, and I always looked for him to guest star on TV shows I was watching.

Good morning!

I had the best night's sleep I've had in almost a month last night, more than eight hours which is RARE for me.

Coolish morning, but it's getting up to 85 today. Ugh!

When I mentioned last night that I should be able to finish THE FUGITIVE today, I forgot that I'm invited to a cookout at 5 p.m., so I may not get it finished until tomorrow.

Good morning, all! I was catching up earlier and Jo's computer froze. I rebooted it and ran out to Milton's Donuts, only to find them closed, got caught on the other side of town because of a parade, and craftily rerouted my way back to Elk Creek Road.

Randy and Jo are sleeping in: too much partaying yesterday. I'm about to return to Brain surgery.

DR Nursie, I can send love and an ice pack, if either would help.

DR FJL, welcome back safely.

Every review I have read of the new ANDROMEDA STRAIN has said that making it into a 4-hour miniseries has made it snail's paced dull.

How did Fred Mertz get as stunning a wife as Ethel, all the while calling Ethel fat?

As my friend Keith says, with stark intensity, "Vivian Vance was not fat; she had a lovely figure."

I seem to recall that one of Sergio Mendes' many sons is named Fernando, which is an FM.

And Sergio did one killer version of J.J. Cale's "After Midnight," in 7/4, with a fantastic Tom Scott sax solo.

Vibes to the people in Parkersburg, IA.  Their town was devastated by a tornado yesterday.

We took the kids to see Indiana Jones yesterday.  I think it resonated more for Betsy and me.  Some great set pieces, but don't think too much about the plot, because it doesn't really make any sense.  :)

Frank Morris (I think he was one of the guys who Escaped From Alcatraz)

or is he the documentary film maker

Errol Morris is hte documentary filmmaker.

BTW, he's collaborating on a film with a friend of mine who is a screenwriter (wrote the HELLRAISER movies, among others) on a non-documentary film.
My friend said he's wonderful to work with, because he leaves him alone!
